I'm glad she went in! Hopefully they can come up with a plan to get her back in good health soon!
Try not to worry about your son. If you had to put him in a daycare, I bet he'd catch on really quickly. Something magical happens in a day care & kids just get it. I think even at a really, really young age, they feel/see the vibe of the room and know what to do. You don't hear of any day care babies that need to be held to sleep or do a million things exactly right in order to sleep. That's reserved for SAHMs, grandparents, or people who watch only one baby at a time. I'm not saying you/your mom are doing anything wrong or should be doing anything differently. You have a system that works. Daycare would also find a system that works. Don't let that be what you stress about. Trust that if you needed to put him in daycare, he would be just fine.
My mom had to have emergency heart surgery (double bypass) almost five years ago and I still get anxious about her health. Like you, I can't imagine a life without her in it. (((Hugs)))

I'm so sorry you are going through this. My dad had the same thing. It was a genetic birth defect that they detected when he was 40. He made it to 69 before he started having serious symptoms. The last straw for his cardiologist was a minor heart attack. 2 years ago he had an incredibly successful valve replacement. Scariest day of my life, but the results have been amazing. I never realized how pale and ashen he looked until his blood flow returned to normal.
I'm sure she is very scared about the options in front of her. Try to have a calm conversation with her (easier said than done). Maybe she will allow you to visit the dr with her. Once you both have more information it will be easier to not panic and make a really informed decision.
I know this is scary, and I' glad you were able to convince her to go. My mom had her valve replaced (with a pig valve, which brings no end of jokes) in 2009 and it's still going strong. She is 71, and her heart is the healthiest thing about her.

My mom has the same thing. It is truly life changing. She was turning really pale but it was over time so once she came out of recovery/ICU and was back in a regular room recovering, her face had so much color. The whole old normal/new normal thing is so real.
Thanks for the thoughts, everyone. She was kept overnight for observation and today they are running tests to check for blockages, so no real news yet. They said it will take most of the day.

So glad to hear this update. This is something we are worried M may have to deal with as he ages, given his cardiac history/condition, and I know how scary the idea of a valve replacement is.
