I don't have my Phi Beta Kappa framed/displayed (I don't remember getting one? But I skipped the ceremony, maybe I was supposed to pick it up later and never did), but I do have:
- undergrad - M.A. - Ph.D. - internship - postdoc
And now I got one for my boards...if it's big I'll take out my M.A. and put it there, but if it's smaller my internship might have to go.
It's expected in my field to display diplomas, I can't think of a colleague who doesn't have them displayed.

Holy crap you did an internship and a postdoc? You must be the most knowledgeable medical scientist ever!
Her question was whether to hang her Phi Beta Kappa certificate.
Did *you* read my response?
I said..."I'd HANG IT." - So that answered her question. I then followed up with "Mine (as in my diploma) won't look right in my cube."
How is that not answering her question? Seriously, you're just nitpicking at stupid shit.
Perhaps, I should have said, "I'd hang it. From my understanding is an accomplishment and would compliment your diplomas nicely. I don't have an office personally so I don't get to hang my diploma. That'd look silly in a cube." Would that have sufficed?
At my last job, no one hung that stuff so I didn't either. I think I'll wait and see what people put up at this new one before I do. I framed my Phi Beta Kappa certificate, but haven't seen many hung in people's offices, so I may leave that one at home. I think diplomas are much more common.
DH's is hanging in the home office. But his mom framed every degree and license he has so his undergrad, his law degree and the WA state law licenses and court admissions are in his office either hanging or on a bookshelf (I think, or they're stuffed in a closet somewhere) and the OH licenses and his PBK and PKP are hanging on the wall at home. Couldn't see wasting the $ she spent on framing it all but it's waaaay too much for the office at work.
Everyone at my office hangs their diplomas on the wall. It is probably because we work at a school, but the thought is that seeing the elite colleges on the walls of the staff will inspire the students, and also inspire confidence in the parents who see them.
