My older daughter had a major skull surgery at 8 months. They called it routine (for them) but somehow, a surgery that retracted the brain of my baby didn't seem routine. She did great and it's a distant memory, just like is will be some day for you.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
I'm praying for you and Ollie, and praying for steady hands and wisdom for the doctors and nurses caring for him. I hope you can find some peace today as you wait for your little boy and I hope the surgery goes well and addresses his need perfectly. *hugs*
Praying for your baby, you and your family and the doctors.
I had open heart surgery as a five month old. It's never been a big deal to me, but now with a baby, I can't imagine what my parents, you and tons of other parents go through. I'm so sure it will be worse on you than him.
