Maybe this is wrong of me, but whenever someone says that being gay is a choice, I automatically assume that they are secretly gay. Otherwise, why would you think its something that can be chosen, unless you yourself are choosing to hide it and "live the straight lifestyle"? I really believe that only someone who struggles with their own urges and desires would have this opinion that being gay is a universally tempting thing that everyone must resist.
ETA or its a carefully calculated political position designed to appeal to those who share the opinion...because they are secretly gay themselves.
He's created an exploratory committee to run for PRESIDENT.
Right, but he's not doing it because he thinks he can actually be elected president so I assume he's trying to get his name out there for an appointment or a lucrative couple of years as a speaker.

I actually prefer when politicians don't hide the crazy. Put it right out there what an asshole you are. On that note Rick Santorum is coming to my town soon and I will be writing down each and every pol who attends his function to make sure they are forever shunned.

"Carson suggested in a 2013 Fox News interview that legalizing gay marriage would pave the way for legal bestiality and pedophilia. He later apologized for the remark, but argued it 'was taken completely out of context and completely misunderstood.'"
I love how bigots ALWAYS say this, but then they either decline to clarify their opinions or, when they do try to explain themselves, it turns out that the revolting stuff they said the first time around was exactly what they meant.
I am laughing so hard at the fact that the Ds are worried about MD Senate? Brown lost because he ran a crappy campaign and people are pissed of all the taxes, sorry FEES, O'Malley put in place. I also think Hogan impressed a few with running with only public funding so he was not tied to the Teacher's Unions, etc.

After this happened he had to step down as the Hopkins commencement speaker due to student outrage. The university has been trying to distance themselves from his politics while still commending his talents. It's been interesting to watch.
My extended family LOVES Carson. I think 90% of it is some weird logic that if they like one black politician then they can't be racists and their comments about "Obummer" being an anti-colonialist Kenyan Muslim and Michael Brown deserving what he got etc are a-ok.
Maybe but they could like Condi or Powell or someone else who isn't a nutter.
Every time somebody says being gay is a choice, I want to be like "Oh, okay then...go choose to be gay. Let me know how that goes. What was that? You're not sexually attracted to men and can't make yourself be? WELL THIS IS BRAND NEW INFORMATION!!"
The best part is that the people making this argument will dismiss homosexuality as "unnatural" in the same breath. If heterosexuality were actually the natural state of humanity, no one would choose to be gay because it wouldn't feel right.

I'm not even going to lie, Colin Powell running for President would make me seriously consider giving an R vote.
Shush now! The R's are wading in the deep end of cwazy conservative land. Don't tell them that wading toward the middle might actually attract some young/new/female/minority voters.
