SH&F -- off the grid + two weeks of backpacking

I am currently failing miserably at doing my job...because I'm in "make all the lists" mode before I head to South America for two weeks of backpacking! 

I think I'm ready, probably? I mean, I have a passport, a plane ticket and a few Chilean pesos...

emilyinchile had some great tips and I did some adjusting to my game plan. Mostly, I hope my feet don't hate me after a week of 20+ miles of backpacking!

...and weirdly, I'm almost more excited to be 110% disconnected from the internet than I am excited about seeing the world! Seriously, the internet has been a fickle bitch lately [the joys of literally living on the internet] so I'm excited to leave the "ultra ego" drama behind and not have to stress about work!

Oh, and my race schedule is still completely up in the air! I really want them to get their act together [waiting on the Forest Service] so I can just have a plan for my summer that doesn't involve ONLY being a crew/pacer!

It'll be me + a girl I met on the internet! It should be a good friendship test!

[we're IRL friends now, she just moved back to the area a few months ago so we have had some IRL quality time to ensure no one will go completely crazy on this trip.]
