I'm just about to buy my fabrics but wanted to kind of put them together in photoshop first before. I want to try the disappearing 4 patch quilt design. These are the two that I'm fond of and I think I'm leaning towards photo number two.
Any and all input is greatly appreciated. I am also open to border ideas if the white just isn't going to cut it. Not sure what I'll do for the backing just yet. The white lines would be either white or cream fabric. Not sure just yet.
I like. I have a dumb question though. Would the white lines diving the squares in your image be white ? Or cream? Or non existent?
Not a dumb question. I meant to put a better shadow behind the digital quilt like the first one. The white lines would either be a white fabric or a cream (not to sure about that just yet). Given the choice colors I'm not opposed to cream so that the lines aren't so ' in your face'. But the only worry I'd have if I did go cream was ensuring it matched with the quilt.
Are you going to physically hit the store for the fabric? I bet it will be easier to figure out there. I think a soft cream sashing would work better with those fabrics, but, at the same time, it might just turn into one pile of blah (the danger of neutrals). And then sometimes white looks great with creams, I just can't feel it out well with the photo of the fabric.
FWIW, I am absolutely in love with good quality muslin on the back of quilts- it is just so soft compared to broadcloth (and easy to find in wide widths + cheap + easily dye-able).

GL!
I will for sure look into the muslin, thank you for the suggestion
In terms of physically going to the store. I primarily buy from fabric.com but most of the time the colors are spot on and of good quality. But whenever I am close to a fabric store I prefer to go in and feel the fabric/see the coloring.
For the sashing though it may be an idea I could do make a special trip (The closest fabric store is an hour away). THank you so much for your input. You've been a great help.
