I'm so glad it's not more serious. I had a viral rash once and they recommended Sarna. It works but it STINKS, even the "unscented" version. It's a non-steroidal anti itch cream.
Oh Tamb! How scary! I'm glad she is acting more like herself now.
For what is worth, since two docs have given you two different diagnosis (and Dr.ML threw in a few of their own,Lol) maybe still try to see a Derm? If E's skin is sensitive and rash prone (Henry's is very, Jack's is as well but not as bad) maybe they can be reassuring and have some tips for future viral illnesses.
We use Sarna over here for the boys' and their crazy eczema. It's pretty good non steroid level stuff.
Hope you both get some angel care free rest today.
Aww, poor girl. So glad you got it checked out and have a diagnosis. Hope you all get some rest and she feels better soon.
FWIW, if I had any suspicion it was scarlet fever, I absolutely would be going to the ER/doctor quickly. My grandmother lost her 3yr old brother to it. I remember how panicked she was when my brother and I both came down with it (I was about 6?). I know it's treatable, but that memory has just stuck with me.
((Hugs)) to you and baby E. Sorry for your scare this morning, but glad someone was able to see E and diagnose her. Hope the sarna helps. You're doing a great job, Tamb. Don't second guess your skills.
