It's so hard. I was on the road for work this week and ate horrible. Meal planning and packing is the only saving grace. If you are staying in a hotel then make sure and hit up the grocery store for easy healthy meals to go.
My H somehow manages this well. Sushi, salmon and plain chicken/chicken salads. Room service has some very basic foods from what I understand. He also gets staffed on a project in the same city for months at a time, so he finds a restaurant he likes and basically orders the same thing nightly, or switches it up with his basic room service meal. I think you have to get where the sheen of eating out every night wears off. Good luck!
I don't really check out new places to eat when I travel anymore. Mainly because I'm typically alone, and I am usually tired and not in the mood to try new restaurants. So 99% of my meals are eaten at Panera, Chipotle, and Outback. I have healthier options I like at all of these places - like I get the salmon at Outback. I also always pack my workout stuff and unless I'm on the road for 10+ hours or something crazy, I always fit in a run right after I check into the hotel. I don't love running but I guess that's working out on the road since I can't do my HIIT routines in the hotel room, LOL.
If I'm with my boss, I have much better meals. LOL.

I don't eat very healthy when I travel, I just run a lot.
I don't eat terrible meals but I always find a dessert place - cupcakes, ice cream, etc. so I guess I save my calories for dessert. I also hit up the grocery store and buy healthy snacks (fresh fruit, nuts, etc) and eat a healthy breakfast at the hotel (skip the pastries and crap and eat oatmeal, etc).

I do my best when I plan on the weekend for our meals during the week and plan in left overs for us to eat for lunch. Or if I know there won't be leftovers (nights we have fish or shrimp) planning what I'll have for lunch the next day.
Basically if I start the week with no plans, I'll end up eating crap and spending money. If I go in with a plan, even planned eat out days, I'm much better off.
Well shit. Scratch all that. I read the op wrong (I need to go to bed).

Have you tried the FitnessBlender HIIT routines that have no jumping specifically for people in apartments?

Qdoba/Chipotle is actually my go-to. I get a steak salad in a bowl (no shell) with corn/black bean mix (no ranch), fajita veggies, pico de gallo, hot salsa, and guac (no cheese/sour cream.)
I try to stay at Marriott Courtyards or full service Marriotts so that I can get eggs for breakfast, and if I don't eat out for dinner, then I ask the hotel to make me a grilled chicken salad with balsamic.
I also hit up a grocery store for fruits and veggies to have as snacks. Lastly, I work out at the crappy hotel gyms. Only 30 minutes on the treadmill makes a difference for me.
I try not to eat much and only eat part of whatever I get. I don't necessarily skip meals but may pick up granola bars and fruit for breakfast or lunch instead of an entire meal.
The thing that really helps me is to keep Kind bars or nuts in my purse. I don't always know when my next meal will be, so having snacks so I don't end up starving is a good thing.
As others have mentioned, I also try to get a lot of protein in the morning especially and eat salads.

When I used to work, I would give myself a pass during trips. Granted, I didn't travel all that much ... maybe quarterly. I would swim in the hotel pool when I was able.
