Well he's been here but last night was a little crazy and we had been up since 3:30a that day. I got to bed about 12:30a this morning.
I'll update more later today. He was born at 8:54p at 7.7lbs and 21 inches. He is gorgeous and we are in love. Most of you know I was high risk and unfortunately he had to go to the NICU. His bili levels are high so he's under some intense phototherapy. If that doesn't work, they'll have to do an Ivig blood transfusion. Blake went through the same, so it was semi expected but still really sucks. We got to spend about an hr w him before they took him, and he did latch and feed. I'm going to be mostly pimping right now as they want him under the lights as much as possible. They are drawing his bili levels every 6 hrs. We are still waiting on the 2nd draw so if you could spare some thoughts and prayers, we'd appreciate it!!! That got much longer than I was planning so here are a few pics for making it through that. And thank you for the sweet messages yesterday. They were greatly appreciated!!!
uPDATE - so while I'm sitting here pumping, I thought I'd update. I just got back from the NICU and they are going to go ahead with the IVIG transfusion. His 3rd blood draw went up almost 2 from the last one, so it's not going down at all. The IVIG is basically adding new blood to him. It will be a 4 hr process. I got down there right after they put his IV in, so got to hold him for a few minutes while the nurse cleaned up the bed. They just started the IVIG at one. Prayers that this works to get his levels down. If this doesn't work, the next step would be a complete blood exchange which exposes him to a lot more blood and is higher risk. H went home today as he had some things he had to do at work (self employed) and he's got to get B as well. the good news is that he has been eating well and pooping which is how he gets rid of the bili.
