I will state that if we don't circ we will definitely have to do some research about how to proceed since DH is circed and I wouldn't have known not to retract, lol. I would have presumed that would have been needed for cleaning purposes.

You just did your research.
Do nothing. That's it.
Well there you go. I do know things were different when I was younger because I am fairly certain my brothers were taught to clean it by retracting it. That being said, that was not a lesson I paid close attention to. Lol.

Once it naturally separates, you're supposed to retract to clean it. That doesn't happen until later, 3-5 years.

Yeah, I was just reading an article about it and what I would have heard at home makes sense, my brothers would have been at least that old.
DS is only 9 months but so far no problems. None for my 30 year old DH either as far as I know.
My mom wanted us to circ because she knew a few people that had to have it done when they were older and she felt that that was more traumatic. I'm not worried.

It is all clear now, lol.
I was confused for a second reading this thread too!
I've been with guys who aren't circumcised and I've definitely seen them in the shower retracting to clean. So I was like oh no, I hope they weren't ruining their penis! But I get it now, lol.
No infections. I do not wish I had circumcised him. In fact, I wish we hadn't circumcised DS1, but we made the best decision we could with the information we had at the time.
No and No, my son just turned 7. My husband is 39 and never has had a problem.
The whole lots of elderly men have issues always baffles me. Most western countries do not routinely circumcise for non religious reasons and they don't have an epidemic of elderly men with penile issues because of not being circumcised.

My MIL thought we should circ. Apparently her husband was un-circed and had some issues (no idea what kind of issues and frankly didn't want to ask) and she said he hated "always having to clean it". Now the man passed away before I ever met DH, but I have trouble believing that any man doesn't want an excuse to play with himself in the shower.
1. Neither boy has had trouble (2.75 & 6 months) 2. No I'm happy with our choice
Eta: ds1 is right in the middle of potty training so he sees dh's penis a lot, and is talking about penises all day, and has never noticed a difference between himself and dh.
Mine is 4.5 and no problems. No regrets. My husband has never had any problems and neither have my sisters older children or her husband (that's everyone I know for sure who isn't!).
