So speaking of Talbots, I just looked on their website. I felt really, really old when I saw the same face that graced the pages of my teenage fashion magazines looking back at me in sensible mom clothes.
I don't know if I like anything fashionable, lol. Most of my clothes are from Target and Old Navy. I'm just not a big clothes shopper in general, never have been. My mom is the same way - so I blame her for mine and my sisters general lack of fashion sense.
Vera Bradley. I'm the most uncool business traveler ever. My coworkers (all 50+ year old males) ask me if I'm attending a slumber party when I show up at the airport with my VB bags.
I like Jack Rogers sandals. I see some fashion bloggers hate them. I like how preppy they are though.
Also Uggs but I live in a cold winter area. Everyone wears Uggs in the winter here.
I wear Jack Rogers sandals every summer and have for years. You can pry them off my cold, dead feet. Unless I am wearing my Sperrys at the time of death .
These things will always just be classic preppy wear in my book. Honestly, I end up regretting basically any attempt I make to be on trend. I feel happiest and most comfortable in the preppy standards I have been wearing since the dawn if time. So that is what I wear.
I'm in Seattle, where what's "fashionable" is high-end outdoorsy/"green"/quirky brands. Helly Hansen, Patagonia, and Boden are all very common here among upper-middle classers. Edit: And I love those brands, though I personally don't wear Patagonia because it doesn't fit my body well (no boob room!). My main winter coat is Helly Hansen (Hilton jacket), I have a few Boden items, and my rain coats are both LL Bean. I do have a couple "dressy" J. Crew winter coats.
I'm not fashionable and am so out of the loop on current trends. I regularly leave the house in jeans and running shoes, which I do realize is not fashionable but I just don't care.
I didn't even know what Louis Vuitton or Burberry were until I was in my mid-twenties and dating a guy who was into that stuff and wanted to buy me a couple of nice purses lol. We were clearly not a good match.

Niki Taylor looks good! But not 17.
Good eye! I totally remember her! I poured over 17 magazine for years!
Add me to the Keens club! After a particularly painful stress fracture last summer, I bought my first pair, and can't believe that I waited so long!
Oh, and Blundstones as well.
Clothes are REI, MEC, Columbia, LL Bean...
I bought something for my mother at Northern Reflections about ten years ago and am apparently still on their email list.
It never even occurred to me this store still exists. Actually, I'd forgotten about it entirely. I also bought something for my mom there, probably ca. 1999.
I just realized that I'm completely out of touch with reality and never knew it. I thought Lands End clothes were nice and more put together than my usual clothes. And I just discovered Talbots this past summer and really like my clothes from there. The cherry on top is that I found a pair of Clarks flats at Nordstrom Rack yesterday that I'm in love with. I have no hope.
