I like adderall. How much are you on? I don't feel panicky at all, I feel very zen (because I can focus instead of my brain buzzing back and forth at every whisper).

I never have but DS did for a while. The first week was rough. He didn't eat, headaches, and emotional wreck. Everything leveled off except the not eating. Which is why we eventually switched his meds.
Just looked at the bottle, it's 20 mg. it's not the kind I could cut in half either.
I started out at 10. I'm at 20 now, but I do have the kind I can snap in half (for weekends, etc). If you like it, but feel it's a little much, definitely talk with your doctor about options.

Sounds like extended release? In my experience, the extended release can have all sorts of weird stuff that the non ER form doesn't have, side effect wise. I'd give it a week or two to let your body adjust. Fwiw the only issue I had with it was it made my scalp tingle.
Especially for an off label use of the medication (i.e. you don't have ADHD). I know PCP can prescribe, bu psychiatrists are specialists around these sorts of meds.
DS, 21, takes Adderall XR 40 mgs daily. My niece, 33, recently started with Adderall, but she and her psychiatrist didn't like the side effects, so he started her on Concerta instead and added an SSRI to address her underlying anxiety.

Yeah, I'd ask to have my dosage decreased.
Adderall has helped me to change so many aspects of my life, but because my ADHD, anxiety and depressive symptoms were so intertwined I found that my doctors were reluctant to prescribe it, or any stimulant, right off the bat. I think I was started off on 5mg...which at the time felt like they were just trying to placate me, although I understand why that was necessary now.
The only other suggestion I have is try to force yourself to eat (protein!) at regular intervals, even though you don't feel like it. An empty stomach is only going to make the jittery feeling worse.
Is adderall meant to be taken daily? I will ask tomorrow but my doctor made it seem like I could take one on a bad day but didn't seem to make it sound like I needed to be on it daily
My doctors told me I don't need to take it daily. I take it on weekdays.

I was told it wasn't a medicine that needed to build up in the system to be effective so that would lead me to believe no.
I take 20mg Extended release. It took some time for my body to adjust but once it did, the hyperness calmed down. I also have 10mg immediate release that I take and it helps be get through the last bit of my day. It has worked wonders for me.

It sounds like you are on too high a dose. It should not make you feel panicky at all. For me it doesn't feel much different than normal, except I can get shit done. I take it on weekdays, and when I have school stuff to do on weekend.
It sounds like it might not be right for you. The symptoms you're describing are what my friends in college who took it for fun experienced.
Normally they start you at a lower dose to let your body adjust and to gauge side effects. It sounds like its too high a dosage. Adderrall is one of the strongest ADHD medicines out there. Without actually having ADHD it may be too much. Even with ADHD it may be too strong due to the severity of symptoms.
My sons doc tells them to always eat a big breakfast. That way when they don't feel like eating they at least have something in their stomach. He's actually told them to eat 2 breakfasts when he feels they aren't gaining enough weight.
I take 20 mg extended release Vyvanse and supplement with 10 mg adderall. This has been my dosage for years so I don't have any side effects except dry mouth.
It may take some time to adjust, but I'd go ahead and speak to your doctor to see if they think you're better suited for another medication.
