Thank you. This is kind of how I'm feeling. Her explanation of why doesn't make sense. I've gotten nothing but positive feedback since starting, and I've been there long enough as a contractor that I don't feel I should have to be "vetted". Also, it's not like the workload or responsibilities would decrease as an intermediate. Nope, same job. Same workload.

No negotiation advice except I'd expect to go in at same level I'm working at now. PTO is worth 1.9% of salary per week. Consider any 401k match. Good luck.

It's also worth mention (if it's applicable) that you're ready to hit the ground running and there will be no downtime do to training, intimate knowledge of their specific company that an outsider would have.

Drives me crazy when companies forget how "expensive" a new hire can be.

Hmm. I might have a guess who you are.

I think your email is good. I can't believe they are offering less money and a lower title. I guess I don't care about the title as much (maybe since I've never had a cool title? lol) but to offer you less of both is nuts. I assume you're not an independent contractor (what are those call - 1099?) where you're responsible for paying your own taxes, so why the pay cut?

If I got offered my job with a pay cut I'd have a really tough time not telling them to go fuck themselves. But I have a bad attitude.

Thanks - I did re-write it a bit to be less "I would like to request" and more "I'm requesting, I am, etc."  This is often an issue for me, so I try to check for it before hitting send!

I left I would be happy to discuss. My intention there was not "I'd be happy to discuss salary/title" and more "I'd be happy to tell you more about how awesome I am and why I deserve this"
