I am tired of being PG. Only 1 more week! She's so big she's simultaneously got her legs in my ribs (so I can't breathe) and her huge head in my pelvis (so I can't stand up or lean over). And our to-do list before she comes keeps getting LONGER, not shorter. Ack!

Why does my baby hate napping and playing?
DH is determined to buy a house this spring. I don't know how I'm going to pack up all our shit when I'm just barely keeping my children alive. He sent me a list of 97 houses and asked me to review them and send back my favorites "in the next 24 hours". lol, whut? No.

I'm going to a consignment sale tomorrow and another on Saturday and I'm ridiculously excited! I love these sales. Plus DS has outgrown a lot of his current stuff but I refuse to buy any more winter clothes so he will be wearing spring clothes regardless of what the weather does.
My cold is getting worse. It took me forever to get home b/c the one road to get off base was down to one lane TOTAL, so there was a mass exodus while the construction guys are like "yep, this is a great time to stop traffic on both sides."
I'm supposed to scrapbook with my mom all weekend. I don't know how I'm going to pack, get the car packed, etc and then drive 3 hours tomorrow to the place. I hope I sleep tonight.
Does anyone else's kid use them as their personal jungle gym. OMG all E wants to do is climb all over me. I kept telling her to be gentle, mommy doesn't feel good, but she gave no fucks. DH was no help.
I love days when my mom watches the girls. She comes up the night before so I get to leave the house without any helpers. Then she does all of the dishes and cleans my house. Last week, she texted me a picture of my spotless microwave.
I'm at DS1's swim lessons. He was super mad when I picked him up from my mom's house because he wanted to play outside and he had to go to swim lessons instead.
So then on our way, he tells me this is the last time he's ever going to swim lessons. Um, sorry kid. It's the first week of the next 8 week session and I just paid $220 for, so gotta finish it out.
Today was a frustrating working mom day. My manager has said passing comments about me being in 'Mommy Mode' because I need to flex my time to pick up from daycare. Never to my face, but to coworkers. After working my flex schedule for 14 months, she is now questioning whether it 'works for our department'. (FTR, I leave 1/2 hr early M-Th and make up the time at home). So I had to draft a proposal and submit it, even though no one has ever had an issue with my work in over a year. In fact, I'm getting a promotion, so not sure what her deal is.
So we had an unrelated department meeting this afternoon, plus the director and SVP. In it, she was talking about a coworker on ML, saying year end was inconvenient for having a baby. She pointed at a female coworker who is getting married next month and told her 'No year end babies, you got that missy?' Then pointed to me, 'You got away with it last year for DS.* Don't let it happen again'. So inappropriate.
*to add insult, this manager knows I was pregnant and having a Feb 2013 baby. But then had a miscarriage. So by the time I got pregnant again, I was out for year end. Not exactly my original fucking plan.
Then the meeting ran over 1/2 hr longer than expected, so I had to duck out to pick DS up. I'm sure me stepping out early reaffirmed whatever she's said about mommy mode. Ugh.
Is it judge worthy to take your 13 month old for chocolate frozen yogurt? I need to know if I can post the hilarious pictures on FB without being judged...
J was so cranky and obstinate all day. I literally said to him, hey J, the sky is blue. Noooooo it's green!! No matter what we said or did he wanted it another way. He has also been really tired and even napped yesterday. I hope it ends soon lol probably in 2 years.
kdubs923 can you see how the other women she is targeting feel? Can you all go to HR together? Or does your promotion mean you won't have to report to her?
We went grocery shopping at 5:00 today. The store was almost empty so I think I've found my new favourite time to shop. They also had a special in their hot food bar. 1/4 rotisserie chicken with potato wedges for $3.99. It was perfect for L and I and no prep or clean up. I may never cook on Thursdays again!
L fell asleep on his own for the first time in months tonight. I used to nurse him to sleep and then moved to sitting beside him in a chair SLS style. He normally fusses and stands up/sits down 3564327 times before falling asleep and screams bloody murder if I move away from him. Tonight I put him in the crib and he rolled away from me. He was playing with his hair and then grabbed his stuffed monkey (which he usually ignores). He looked content so I snuck out. He didn't make a peep. I watched him on the monitor and he fell asleep in 4 or 5 minutes! I realize this is NBD for most kid but it's a big deal for my special snowflake!
DD is in bed, DH is watching hockey and I am trolling the internet. In 25 minutes I will go up and take a shower so that DH and I can watch another episode of House of Cards before bed.
DD didn't sleep well at daycare because some new kid was fussing/screaming during nap time.
I put her down around 5:30 for a "cat nap" - she is still sleeping now at 7:10. What do I do? Bedtime has been 6:30-7ish lately.
It is one of my only parenting maxims never ever to wake her up- but will she go all night? DH bought me a bottle of wine but I'm not sure when to crack it open.
We're painting the patio and I get the honors of throwing the decorative specks. I feel like I'm throwing pixie dust. And that makes me want to go to Disney now!
kdubs923 Ugh I know how it feels to work with someone like that. Would you feel comfortable telling her boss that her family planning comments make you uncomfortable?
Thanks all for letting me vent! Now, I'm having wine. Wine helps.
I will still report to her even with the promotion. I've recently had candid conversations about my manager to the director and SVP when I was up for promotion. They are aware of the issues with her (I'm not the only one that has talked to them). They've promised 'big changes' and 'restructuring' and asked me to stick around through 2015. I'm trying to be patient. But I'm really hoping these changes will be sooner rather than later.
