We are only on day 3 of this cold and I'm worried about him. He hasn't eaten anything in 2 days. And has barely had anything to drink. I changed his diaper once today and that was just because he pooped, not because he was overly wet. He spiked a low grade fever (99.5 was the highest) on Tuesday night, no fever yesterday or this morning, then spiked another fever (99.9 the highest) after his 4 hour nap today. I got him up at 11:00 this morning, put him down at 2:00, woke him up again at 6:00, then put him back down at 8:30. He fell asleep in my arms while I was rocking him tonight. He hasn't done that since he could crawl. It's so heartbreaking. I hate when my kids are sick.
Update: Took him to urgent care and they didn't even check him after asking me a few questoons. They sent us to the ER because they thought he was going to need fluids and the uc can't do it. Turns out he has an ear infection and upper respiratory infection. He ate a popcicle while he was there so they sent us home with a numbing drop for his ear, amoxicillin, and instructions to come back if he doesn't pee at all.

Aw, poor guy and poor you! We all just went through our first cold of the year and it was rough, the boys all still have a lingering junky cough. They didn't eat much either, I figure nothing tastes very good when you're sick and maybe they had sore throats? The not drinking would make me most worried for your boy.
I'm sorry, poor little guy. I hope that he feels better soon. Maybe call the pedi about the lack of wet diapers tomorrow if you haven't already. Dehydration was something they told me to watch out for with E. I'm sure you know this already, though.
Side note - how is he 2.5 already??
I'm waiting for h to get home so we can talk about whether I should stay home with him again tomorrow or not. He usually goes to mil's on Fridays, but I'm pretty worried about the lack of wet diapers.
How is E today?
I know! I don't know how they grow so fast! I'm pretty sure I just had him yesterday!
I would be most concerned about dehydration. Can you try to get some pedialite or Gatorade into him?
I'll have to go get some. We don't have any. I've tried pushing water, juice, and milk all day and he barely had a full sippy of milk. And this kid LOVES his milk. He usually drinks 4-5 sippy cups a day of milk.

The rash is no better but no worse, so that's good. She's been sleeping a lot. She and J are both sounding congested now though, so I"m worried she's coming down with something else on the heels of whatever caused the rash!
I'm glad the rash didn't get worse. Hopefully she and J both don't catch anything. Poor girls.
What about a Popsicle? Or even a frozen gogurt? My 2 year old had an awful cold a few months and didn't eat for three days. It really scared me so I totally get it. I hope he feels better soon!
I agree that I'd call his pedi about the lack of drinking and wet diapers. Dehydration can happen fast. Which could cause the sleepiness. Hope he gets better soon!
He's still sleeping and I'm going to work. H doesn't have to be to work until later so he will be with ds, then when he has to leave mil is coming to take over. Mil used to be a nurse. H is being much more breezy about it then I am. I'll tell h to have mil stop and get some pedialyte and pops before she comes over. I did find some expired pedialyte, so we'll try that until she gets here.
Oh, no! The ER will take good care of him. DD1 got dehydrated after a bad stomach flu when she was 4; they kept her on fluids overnight. She was fine after that. They said when kids refuse even water or pedialyte, that's when you've got to bring them in. Their little bodies get too out of whack.
