So glad it's Friday. This has been a bad 2 week stretch between mastitis, my mom's flight being canceled & rescheduled, scary icy weather, DH traveling, me having an allergic reaction to my mastitis treatment, and DS vomiting all over me the other day. I really need a break!
However... And I'm just going to whisper this... I'm not wearing socks today. It's supposed to be in the 50s and I'm so excited to wear skinny jeans & flats today! No socks, no boots, no heavy down coat!! It's the little things, people.

I have my Aunt's funeral. She was such an amazing lady I want to AW her a bit. She was always cheerful and so very generous. She let the local YMCA use her pool for lessons for years before they could built their own. She hosted over 50 foster kids with such amazing calm and understanding. She was a scuba diver, excellent seamstress, and championship bowler. We lived down the road and were pretty close. She hosted almost all the birthday parties growing up. She was 77, but still left us too soon. It's going to be a hard day.
H is off Sunday. I don't remember when we last spent a whole day together. J and I need some sort of plan for Saturday. Maybe if it's nice we'll go to the zoo.
I slept for 8 uninterrupted hours last night. I feel great, lol.
DD is going to MIL's at 8 so I can get all my errands run in the morning before nap time. I have about 2.5 hours to hit Costco, the grocery store, Party City, Michael's, and drop stuff off at goodwill.
No school again today. Maybe today we will get to the cake baking I have been plotting for the last week. I have to see what is open. The aquarium is usually a good bet on a snow day.
I slept through the night! Not sure about anyone else. When I congratulated A for sleeping in her bed, she informed me that her dad had snuggled her for a bit. He was gone before I woke up so I don't have details.
Does anyone else have double ads up top? It's really irritating.
So....a 5:30 wakeup is much better than a 4:30 wake up....PLEASE child, stay asleep! Yawn. However, today's 4:30 is much better than yesterday's 3:30. So I guess we're moving in the right direction??!
Another sitting here ugly crying at Brie 's post. It sounds so so familiar to L's birth, minus the general. I didn't get to hold him until the next day and only briefly saw him after delivery before he and H were whisked to the nursery for an hour or more while I sat in the recovery room with no idea what was going on. I'm sitting here watching my one year old stuff his face with English muffin, but petrified for history to repeat itself in a few months.
My babies STTN for the first time! This also means I slept SEVEN hours straight. I haven't slept that long since before I got pregnant! I'm hoping this wasn't fluke. DD usually wakes around 2 or 3. I woke at 5 in a panic and had to make sure they were breathing. We got them up at 530 and fed them and they went back to bed till 8 am feeding. I'm surprised I didn't wake up from my boobs being so full.
Tonight we're trying cribs and retiring the RNP. I think overnight will be fine but I'm scared for naps. We're going to elevate the mattress and I haven't been swaddling for naps but will if I need to. I'm also nervous what DST will do tomorrow night.
-Also I'm glad our kitchen keeps cool so their BM wasn't bad after sitting out from 930 till 530. I'm not sure if it was bad to use it but it didn't smell and the babies drank it fine. I was not about to waste 7 oz if I didn't have to.
Unfortunately there is apparently a six-month probation period and developmental objectives he has to meet before he'll get the pay. Essentially they are calling him a manager-in-training for that time period before becoming the actual manager. But when he does, it's a 25% raise!
He has been SO stressed all week about this and I was feeling sick to my stomach today because I knew he would find out either way this morning. I'm SO glad that it went the good direction. I honestly think that the probation period thing is a stupid office politics way of getting under his skin (long story - bad blood), but I can't know that for sure. But he knows he can kick ass at the job and prove to them that he can handle it! YAY!
glitzy07 that's awesome! Will his hours stay the same?
Today is a teacher work day at school. I love these days. I am wearing yoga pants and a sweatshirt and get to do whatever the hell I want in my classroom all day. No meetings. No staff development. Nothing. I'm going to either get so much done or waste it away on here. I'm hoping to get grades done, organize some files, clean behind my desk and plan for the upcoming week. If I get all that done I'll call this day a success!

He'll actually have better hours, I think, but will still be working six days a week. Prior to his manager being fired, he was working four 6am-2pm shifts, one 10am-6pm shift and one 9am-5pm shift. Now he'll have one later shift at most!
My husband threw a shit fit last night after giving dd a bath because I didn't hang up a new wash cloth for him to use to brush her teeth. (She hates the toothbrush). If I would have thrown a tantrum over that he would have yelled at me to calm down. And yet, he still yelled at me that I need to replace the wash cloth if I use it. So he had to take 2 steps to grab another one. I swear, if things aren't laid out for him ready to go, he can't function.

I'm sorry. It's really frustrating to have to deal with two babies (your kid and DH). Mine is the same way. DH always does baths, but I have to set up the bathroom with a towel and washcloths first. Good lord the shit fit that would ensure if I forgot and he had to walk the 4 steps to get them from the linen closet himself.
This should be a confession, but h & I realized that we were spending over $200/month for cable and internet. We just switched yesterday, so we are down to $120/month. I called Verizon to lower our cell phone bill, and we're saving $30/month. I can't believe we were spending that much without noticing, but yay for more money each month!
