My first FFFC: I don't like to play with my son. It was fun when he was smaller (i.e., when I got to decide what we played) but now all he wants to do is play good guys vs. bad guys and it is EXCRUCIATING! I swear I would rather watch paint dry. I am always for reading/puzzles/Legos/science experiments and all sorts of other quality-time activities but lately I find myself spending less and less time on the floor "playing". I try to make up for it by ensuring he has plenty of play dates with kids his age, plus preschool. But I still feel guilty about it

I don't like that sort of pretend play either. I enjoy the other things you mentioned but I'm fine with leaving the running around fighting aliens to other kids and the occasional babysitter or grandparent. My confession: I don't feel guilty about that. I do plenty of other fun things.

Omg I hate playing. With a passion. I'd rather stick a fork in my eye
