I mean, I wouldn't. But only because I ended up damaging my own nails picking at them before I could get them removed. Clearly, I can't be trusted. But I'm guessing a 4 year old can't either.

Is there a reason that normal polish with a strong top coat wouldn't be sufficient?
Gel is difficult to remove without completely destroying your nails if you are not patient enough to sit with you fingers wrapped in acetone soaked cotton. I'm nearly 30 and was not patient enough last time and am still paying for it with peeling nails months later.
No. I get gel manicures all the time and it hasn't ruined my nails at all, but it is a pain to get off, and requires a lot of scraping either at home or at the nail salon. That's not something I would want to deal with with a kid.
Not sure why my answer isn't a straight "no." Maybe bc I only have boys, so I've never thought of beauty/age questions, nor have I ever had gel polish.
I've only used it once and had to have it taken off by the nail tech a few weeks later when it was chipping. It was great while it lasted, but my nails are a mess now and it's been off for three weeks.
Nope. I don't even think I'd take my 4.5 year old in for a regular manicure, mostly cause I'm cheap, but partly because to me, going to the salon is a more adult experience. In my head I'm thinking 10 years old or so, for a special event, but that's just guessing, it could easily end up being older or younger depending on how things shake out. If she wants them painted, I'll paint them at home.
No. The only problem I would have with it, is getting it off. I'm too impatient to get it off my own nails, I wouldn't want to try to get it off my kid.

No. I love my no-chip and it isn't damaging if you maintain it and all that jazz (at the right salon w the right product) but 5 is too young IMO. It would be hard on tiny little kid nails that's aren't as strong as grown up nails, I feel like.
