212 Is it worth it for me to upgrade to the Toddler Tula? Realistically, how long will I be able to carry D?
DD will be 3 in May. She's tall and skinny. She loves being worn. She did hate being worn from 15ish months until a little shy of 2, but then she loved it again.
How are all of your sweet toddlers happy being carried? DD would not tolerate it one single day past the day she started walking. I can't even imagine the thrashing that would take place if I tried now.
DD hated it from 15ish months until almost 2, and then suddenly she started loving it again. I got the toddler Tula on a whim when we were going to be someplace that wasn't stroller-friendly, and she was SO EXCITED about it being purple with flowers that she started to ask to go in it all the time. She's almost 3, and still asks to be worn frequently. She likes to be carried, though, and a lot of the time I tell her that the only way I can carry her is in the tula.
I had no idea H would really want to wear L. We live in the DC area where there's a long history between Cowboys and Redskins fans. Well H is a Packers fan and every time he wore L in the fall people would ask if he's a Cowboys fan. He got so annoyed with that. And me being the sports fan that I am (NOT!) really didn't even think of that when I ordered the star Tula. I was able to sell it for the price I bought it on EBay and ordered a new plain one instead. Lol

I wore A routinely until she was 2.5 and her brother was born. Then she got worn only on family outings where we could each wear a kid. She started wanting to be down all the time around 3/3.5 I wore her for a while this winter when her leg was broken and it didn't make sense to bring the stroller.
M is 2.5 and I foresee still being able to wear him off and on for a while yet.
@this, both of mine refused to be worn right around the time they learned to walk, but they both went back to it eventually. Picking them up upside down and flipping them over my back into the carrier helped when they were reluctant, because they loved to circus flip. Circus flip video(not me)-

D LOVES the circus flip. I did it at the diner on Sunday, and the waitress clapped for me, she was so impressed. LOL.

DD2 loves being worn. She is almost 4 and 34 lbs. She went through a brief up down, up down phase but then went back to liking the snuggles. She hates strollers and shopping carts.

We have a toddler Spotted Love, and I love it! The pic is from last summer, but we still use it fairly often, and DS will be 3 in June. He was 75% for height and weight at his 2-1/2 well child visit. We just used it Saturday at the zoo as I didn't want to take a stroller - he mostly walked, but I put him in the Tula whenever he wanted carried.

We also have a toddler Spotted Love. DD is 3.5 and still likes to be worn. DH will just wear her around the house sometimes but it is also nice to be able wear her when we are out.
i have a toddler flamingo. i got it for steal - $145CAD, taxes in. brand new when a local baby store was going out of business. it's not the pattern i would have have chose if i were paying full price, but for the price it is perfect. and it has grown on me. it's quirky and i like that. it's also a really convenient identifier when i'm meeting up with people i don't know
this is the only picture i can find of us wearing it. the waist and straps are navy.
I'm jealous of you all. I want one, but cannot justify the price not knowing if my kid is going to like it or not.
search your facebook for a local babywearing group. they often have lending libraries, or you could go to a meet up and try one on from another member.
conversely, if you buy one second hand you will be pretty much guaranteed to sell it for the same price if it turns out to be a dud with your kid. even buying new, the second hand value is insane. you might only lose $20.

I have a Standard in Prepster. DS (20 months) prefers to be worn on my back, but I haven't reliably figured out how to get him there completely by myself. I haven't worn him in quite a while, but will plan on it a few times over the next few months with traveling.
I really want the Toddler size in the newest anchors pattern. I haven't been able to find it and even if I did, not sure it makes a ton of sense to buy one when we don't use it a ton right now.

You can rent one from their website! That's what I did before I bought it.
I haven't used mine in a long while since the winter started. I am looking forward to the spring when we can go out again and I hope she still likes it as a toddler like she did as a baby.
I would like to do a circus flip but B is horrified by the concept of piggy back rides. We do the hip swivel twist (TM).
i can't figure this one out!
What's the superman toss?
There are a couple of different ways to do the superman toss. I like it because I don't have to reach back for the arms with DD on my back. We do it from standing with DD facing away like in the second video, but the first one shows how to set up the straps on the baby:
