Flameful confession (although I'm sure I'm not the only one): Sometimes when people post their budgets it makes me feel better about my life. And my budget isn't even that great.
How's the view up there on your high horse?
I feel like this is pretty uncool.
Sorry. I thought I was supposed to post something flameworthy.
Seriously though. I have no high horse. I guarantee that my budget makes others feel the same way. I didn't say I judge people with crappy budgets. They're trying to make it better. I'd even offer them advice if I thought I was in a position to be giving it.

Really? A) Its a flameful confession and B) I feel the same way.

I'm house sitting and pet sitting for a friend. I cannot wait to get back home and sleep in my own bed and be around my pets. Doing this has totally confirmed that I will never be a dog person; I like dogs but I really do not want to live with them! The dog I'm taking care of snores louder than my XH!! I do not understand how people can have multiple dogs; I'd go starking raving mad.

That's silly. It's not like she's telling the poster that. She's just thankful (internally) that she's in a better position. I bet most of us have felt that way.
I don't understand that hate on people who rehome their dogs. They recognize that they can't give them what they need / deserve so they want them to be happy and loved by someone who can?
Why does this make someone a terrible person?!
I see it on here a lot and the recent thread reminding me that I don't get the hate. It's not like they are leaving the animal on the side of the road.
I think people on this board are reasonable when a person has to rehome a dog after trying multiple ways to keep the dog. I think they can be harsh because they want the person to understand that it's OK to do it once, but it's not OK to continually get new dogs, have issues with them, and then rehome them.
I feel there are a lot of people in this world who shouldn't have pets. I wish we didn't have an over population of dogs and cats so that having a pet involved a little more effort and oversight (versus today where you can easily find an unwanted litter of puppies or kittens and then just toss the animal in the backyard).
I do appreciate that people make the effort to rehome to a good home and not just, well, do other worse alternatives.
I love animals. I cannot read news stories about animal abuse. They affect me more than news stories about child abuse. (I don't have kids and I do feel like a hypocrite for eating meat).
emilyinchile's post in this thread yesterday gave me incentive to buy a bikini for my trip to Miami next month. I'll be 8 months post-partum and think I look pretty good, considering. So why not show pool and beach-goers my yoga-toned post-partum self?
I have one! I haaaaaate "FWP / first world problem" with the fire of a thousand suns.
Dudes, most of us live in the first world so yes we are allowed to be annoyed or bothered by first world things!
I feel it is used by posters who feel bad about complaining about stuff that isn't life or death - my response there? If u can't complain about that silly nonsense on the Internet then where can you!?
Or...used by posters who are judging others in a martyr / bitchy way - my response there? Dude just let the complainer vent!
If I want to be pissed about my regular Saturday yoga class being canceled or my case of wine not being ready for pickup.....that's my prerogative!

@shoegal--it seems like the barometer for ANY FWP is anything that can garner the response "must be nice."
I love dramatic complaining, and the Internet is the only place that s suited for that in my world. Today's dramatic complaint: Dammit, LLL! I finally get to the showroom during store hours and you don't have my favorite running tee?!?!?

Gavel.
I prefer "yuppie sob story." I feel like swank first used that, but I could be making that up.
Example: the grocery store was out of organic chocolate milk, so I had to buy conventional. #yuppiesobstory (actual complaint I have made, LOL)

Okay, fine, I'll confess that honestly didn't know rehoming a pet was a thing people frowned upon until TN/GBCN. At all, like I'd never even heard the word rehome lol.
Ditto. Honestly, I think it's a white people thing. I had never heard that term before either.

White person here -- I have only ever heard "rehome" on GBCN and I know a lot of white people who have gotten rid of pets for stupid reasons and without much concern.
I think it is something that people on GBCN care about a lot that the population at large generally doesn't care that much about. But there are a lot of those things.
I don't know if this is unpopular or not, but this whole "Pi Day" meme is some stupid, stupid shit.
I haven't seen the meme. However I did celebrate Pi day by baking a blackberry pie from scratch. I have used Pi day as a baking excuse for years - because pi(e) is wonderful and who cant use an excuse to enjoy something fun.
Ya I'd never heard about it until here. I chalk it up to a gbcn-isim but every once and a while I can't help but roll my eyes.
Believe me, we all do that sometimes at the stuff we see here. Or at least I hope we all do. I'm scared of anyone who doesn't have a GBCNism or ten that makes them roll their eyes.
explorer2001 -- that is the meme I am talking about
Corned beef and soda bread are both disgusting. Why do people keep making them on St Patrick's Day?
No clue. Corned beef isn't even Irish.
Soda bread, well... There is good soda bread, and there is crappy soda bread. It's a crap-shoot when someone else is making it if I'll be able to stand more than a few bites.
