T-minus 36 hours to DD, holy cow. We are pretty ready. Crib, dresser, changing area, car seat, freezer meals, all good to go. I am still annoyed they moved up my surgery to 8am, so I have to arrive at the hospital at 6am, which means I have to get up at 5am. As if having surgery and a newborn isn't tiring enough, I have to get up at the asscrack of dawn too?!? NOT FAIR.
Sounds like we're having the same kind of day. I already made the Gatorade, pesto and saltines run too. DH actually told me I could have a piece of his DQ birthday cake but I told him I would wait for him. Then again I'm on weight watchers and not cluster feeding a newborn. If I was you all bets would be off.
Pesto?
I feel like the DQ cake will keep indefinitely in the freezer, whereas this cake will not, also.
An oil changed into new breaks and now I am $375 poorer. ILs are coming tomorrow to babysit ds - is it wrong I just want to find a place and sleep lol.

So,I need some new work shirts. I'm trying to step up my wardrobe at work, but can't find anything interesting and professional enough. I am rotating through a few sweaters and some dresses, but am tired of wearing boots all the time and want to have some new options. Any suggestions of where to look?

@supergreen-I can't remember if you had a scheduled c/s with DS or not, but I had to be up at 5am for mine too. I don't think I slept that night so I was glad it was that early! Good luck!
Brie and spk926-I hope you decided to eat the cake

I loved Monuments Men! Probably because I really had no idea what it was about going in, and then I realized I have seen that statue in Bruges that's one of the main points of the story. I had no idea!!

Have you looked at JCPenny or Sears? I feel like after I've looked at all the "mall stores" (Gap, Loft, Old Navy, Express, etc) and still haven't found something then I check out those two places and have some good luck. Prices are usually pretty good too. Worth a shot!
We went to the zoo today too, but all I saw was a fight break out in the aquarium. Although I don't think I would recognize them if I saw them. I also smashed my thumb in a lock in the bathroom somehow. I'm waiting at the hospital for stitches.
We're hanging out binge watching Breaking Bad. We tried watching it before and didn't get into it but this time we really are! I should really be figuring out outfits and any props we want for pictures tomorrow...
Jealous. I so want to watch Breaking Bad again but my H won't do it. He wants to watch stuff we haven't seen before, which is lame because nothing will ever be better than Breaking Bad.

H and I split a bottle of wine with dinner. It is delicious. Our neighbors are having a party, but I don't want to change out of my yoga pants to go. Netflix for the win!

Except The Wire.
Yeah we do need to watch this. It is the only one I will consider.
Does anyone's older kid suck at using a fork? I swear, Z used a fork at 2 more than he does at nearly 5. Obviously he CAN use one, but he still will pick stuff up with his hands and it drives me craaaazy. He just doesn't think to use it half the time, I have no idea why.
Today I was like use your fork! Who eats chicken with their hands? And he told me, "That's what they do in Wisconsin!" lol, what?
A fork impedes C's ability to shovel food in his mouth as fast as possible, so yeah, he hates them.
spk926 you could wear just about any statement necklace with that top.
DH and I talked bday party and yeah, not inviting the whole daycare class. That would be 9 kids and at least 1-2 parents. We'll stick with just the daycare buddies.
I cleaned the house this morning, spent a good 1.5 hours cleaning out my car, and showed houses from 2 - 7. I had to stop at Target on the way home to grab a few groceries, and picked up carry-out for dinner because I am too exhausted to cook. And I ate part of a bag of potato chips on my drive home.
I'm so tired and my pelvis is so sore. This baby better be coming out soon! (But maybe after Monday, when I have a dentist appointment, need to write an offer, and have plans to get a pedicure. LOL)

It was nuts today! I stuck pieces of paper with my name and phone number in the kids' pockets. I was so scared of losing them.
Also, I bought Little Debbies while I was at Target.
I haven't had one in years. They are currently chilling in the fridge, because my grandma always kept them in the fridge, and when I saw them nothing sounded better than a cold little debbie, LOL. I had a salad for dinner so I figure that cancels out eating 2 cakes and a glass of whole milk. Ha.
@supergreen, how does DD's delivery work with your H's grandmother's passing and services? What a lot to have going on!.
We are not having a service, she didn't want one. She will be cremated per her wishes. So we don't really have to do anything right now, just wait to receive her remains.
We are lucky that DH's cousin has been involved this whole time, and is stepping in to handle whatever needs to be done while we're busy with DD. It's been very hard for me and DH to process the conflicting emotions of losing his grandmother (sadness) and having DD (excited/terrified). It is a lot going on!

I backed out of the wedding today! My cousin was nothing but happy for us (or at least didn't show it) so I feel like a huge weight has been lifted. I'm disappointed I can't stand with her but happy to have that over with.

I did not have a scheduled c/s with DS. My water broke, he got stuck in my pelvis, and ended up in an emergency c/s. That scenario makes me a bad candidate for a VBAC, hence the scheduled RCS.
I am angry b/c my shitty OB's office didn't even TELL ME they moved my surgery! Thank god the hospital decided to call me, otherwise I would have been an hour late. I hate my OB's office, I am not going back once I'm done having babies. I'll see my PCP for my routine GYN care.
Ahh peace and quiet. We had two fun but late nights out in the city but tonight DH went out solo so I'm relaxing on my parents' couch watching the finale of the Bachelor all alone. We all took a three hour nap today so B stayed up til 8 pm (late!). I hope he sleeps in.
My ILs came over today and FIL and H installed some cabinets in our laundry room. They took sooooooooo long for like 3 cabinets, lol. They look great but I completely forgot to buy hardware and the in-stock countertop we got won't work. Grr. (The front edge dips down and our lower cabinets have a drawer, which is blocks). So, yeah. I'm not sure what to do. I hate that we will likely need to custom order something because we were really trying to do it on the cheap. Also, I wish it were finished. I hate half-finished projects!
Can you add shims on top of the lower cabinets so the counter top sits higher?
