3. Palau or Micronesia. I could really use a beach holiday, but I like to visit places that are a bit off the beaten path.
4. My theory is that they are countries with which the US maintains foreign relations. So it includes countries where the US has diplomatic relations (even via a third party as is the case with countries like Iran and North Korea), but not those where the US only deals with the associated nation (e.g. Nauru is included, but not Niue). ...Plus Antarctica (because it's cool). But that breaks down on Palestine. I don't see why they chose to include Palestine but not Western Sahara, as each is recognized by dozens of UN member states but not by the US.
1. 23 2. 16 3. We're going to Vietnam next month, and I'm super stoked about that! I keep warning people I might not come back. 4. I'm not sure. I noticed Gibraltar wasn't included, which is pretty random.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain

1. How many countries on the Buzzfeed list have you visited? 40 (and many others not included)
2. Of those, how many have you visited more than one city/region? Around 75%, I'd say
3. Of the countries you haven't visited, which would you most like to visit right now, and why? Egypt, Antarctica, Burma/Myanmar, Zambia, Maldives
4. How do you think they chose which countries to include in the list? Seemed like a lot of islands/territories that still fall under the government of another country weren't included, perhaps explaining why a lot of the Caribbean islands and Hong Kong weren't mentioned.

1. How many countries on the Buzzfeed list have you visited? 11
2. Of those, how many have you visited more than one city/region? 6
3. Of the countries you haven't visited, which would you most like to visit right now, and why? Iran- food, culture, archaeological sites.
4. How do you think they chose which countries to include in the list? No idea- aside from the obvious being major tourist destinations it looks like they also picked countries that have been in the news and that people have probably heard of.

1. How many countries on the Buzzfeed list have you visited? -- 17
2. Of those, how many have you visited more than one city/region? -- 9
3. Of the countries you haven't visited, which would you most like to visit right now, and why? -- Norway and Denmark, to complete my tour of Scandanavia
4. How do you think they chose which countries to include in the list? -- I read somewhere what they used, but I can't remember what it said, though the note at the bottom says the name of the Palestinian Territories reflects the current usage in both the U.S. State Department and the United Nations terminology so I would assume part of the list came from those sources.

1. 18, but I'm feeling cheated out of Hong Kong and Macau. Yes they are technically part of the PRC but immigration is completely seperate! Different visa, different stamp in your passport, they should count! I also think I'm forgetting some.
2. Maybe about 8 or nine.
3. Well, I am going to Vietnam and Thailand in the next two months, but other than that? Malaysia, Taiwan, and Indonesia are high on my list at the moment.
1. 17 2. 16 - My travels are almost always to 1 country only, so I end up seeing lots of different regions of that country. Only exception was a half day stop in Turkey during a trip to Greece. 3. I most want to go on Safari - so Kenya or Tanzania or something like that. That probably won't happen til kids are out of the house.

1. 11 2. 4 3. I really, really want to go to Myanmar, but I don't think I'll be able to make that happen anytime very soon. 4. No idea.
I think I have the lowest number so far, which I'm not at all surprised by. But I do think it's a little funny since among our friends, H and I are considered the well-traveled ones. I hope that number increases by a lot over the next few years though.
1. I think I'm the lowest with 8 2. All 8 3. I almost booked a trip to Belize and Guatemala this week, so I would say those (I booked a different trip instead). 4. No clue. I'm feeling cheated since England, Scotland and Wales count as one country and French Polynesia left off the list.
I seem to go back to the same countries over and over - different regions though. And in my circle, I'm considered well traveled.

1. No. of countries: 8 2. Visited more than once: 2 3. A combo of Italy and Russia or Turkey as well as a combo of Colombia and Panama are the ones that are on my top choices this year 4. I have no idea. I'm thinking it's likely the most traveled.
I'm not sure I even know anyone who has ever been to Comoros and I know someone who is from or who has lived in most countries in the world.
I'm pretty sure that I saw an Indian Ocean cruise that visited Comoros once. And there's a port page for it on the cruise site I use for searching, though there are no scheduled port calls. (There are currently some itineraries that visit Mayotte, which is geographically part of Comoros, but I guess would fall under France in this list.)
I would have picked someplace like Niue as the least visited. Tell me you know someone from Nauru or Niue, because I think that would be awesome!
...And now I have spent entirely too much time looking at the World Tourism Orginzation statistics! Niue actually gets 7000 visitors a year. Of the countries that report numbers, the least-visited is Tuvalu, which last reported 1000-2000 annual international visitors. (For comparison, Comoros last reported 19,000 visitors.)
It's full of all kinds of crazy statistics. New Zealand receives fewer tourists than Albania! And Kyrgyzstan receives almost as many! Who are these 2.4 million tourists who go to Kyrgyzstan each year?! (ETA - I do know someone from Kyrgyzstan, but I only know of one tourist who has been. And he was really just passing through on his way from Kazakhstan to Tibet.)

Do all the countries count "tourists" the same way?
When I was in college I was counted 3 separate times for student counts -- once for being a regular day student, once for living on campus, and once for taking a night class. Once semester, I was counted 4 times, because the night class was held in a an off-campus location.
So it could be that the counts in Kysgyzstan are different than the counts in New Zealand. For example, they could be counting any non-resident who crosses the border as a tourist, regardless of reason for visit, while New Zealand may be only counting those who hold tourist visas.
1. How many countries on the Buzzfeed list have you visited? 9
2. Of those, how many have you visited more than one city/region? um, 4 I think
3. Of the countries you haven't visited, which would you most like to visit right now, and why? well, I counted Spain on the list of visited, but I'm actually not going for another 10 days. Besides that, (and besides the whole list), Ireland. I have Irish ancestry, so I think it'd be neat to visit the "motherland."
4. How do you think they chose which countries to include in the list? No idea, it was quite an extensive list. Every country I've been to was on it.
1. How many countries on the Buzzfeed list have you visited? 9
2. Of those, how many have you visited more than one city/region? Well, I lived in China for 2 years, and backpacked through SE Asia one summer, so most of them.
3. Of the countries you haven't visited, which would you most like to visit right now, and why? Pretty much any place in Europe. Because I've never been and I'd love to explore the historical sites.
4. How do you think they chose which countries to include in the list? There were 199 countries in the list. Google tells me there are 196 countries in the world. I think a better question would be, where did they come up with 3 extra?
1. How many countries on the Buzzfeed list have you visited? 39
2. Of those, how many have you visited more than one city/region? 29
3. Of the countries you haven't visited, which would you most like to visit right now, and why? Lithuania and Latvia. I always enjoy visiting Eastern European countries Hope Putin stays out of these two.

These are two of the best countries we have visited, so interesting!

I want to say that I do really like a lot of the photos that they used.
1. How many countries on the Buzzfeed list have you visited? I have only been to 19.
2. Of those, how many have you visited more than one city/region? 9. (Lived and been in a lot of the US; been and lived in a lot of the UK; rode a bus through Austria with several stops; visited Belgium multiple times in several regions - would consider living there in the right circumstances; visited Sofia and then multiple mountain villages in Bulgaria; spent significant time in Croatia, visited most of the country top to bottom - would consider living in the region in the right circumstances (or having a holiday home there); been to several different parts of France and Germany; toured most of Montenegro, it is a small country and I was able to see most of it in a day on a bus tour.
3. Of the countries you haven't visited, which would you most like to visit right now, and why? There are so many on my list to eventually see. Armenia has recently caught my attention and my BF would like to visit Georgia. I think those are high on our list for when we can really get away. Realistically, I may be more likely to visit somewhere like Iceland this year and I am sort of craving a warm nonspecific beach as well. I would also like to visit Malta and a number of European countries like Czech Republic and Hungary soon. Where I actually go will depend on my mood and means when I can actually book something. I have been buried in work.
4. How do you think they chose which countries to include in the list? It seems pretty comprehensive to me. I don't notice many countries that are missing. They seem to have avoided listing most territories or autonomous regions - the Palestinian Territories being a notable exception. I guess there are probably some islands that slipped through the cracks but they've included a lot of those too.
3. Pretty much all of them, but I could do without visiting Syria right now. We are going to New Zealand this summer. I've somehow never been to South America and I would like to change that soon.
