I'm new here, my home board is Travel. I posted in the Who's Who thread. Planning to start TTC at the end of April when I finish my 3-month bc pack!
I have a history of abnormal paps, on and off over the last few years I will have an abnormal pap, do a colposcopy, everything's fine, repeat in a year or two. My last pap was in early March, at the appointment I discussed TTC with my doctor and she was enthusiastic and didn't have any concerns. After that appointment I got a call that my test was abnormal so I need another colposcopy (yuck). I'm traveling for the next few weeks so I won't b able to get back in until late April.
My obgyn is great and I will fully discuss with her, I'm just wondering if anyone had similar experience while TTC and how they approached it. I'm feeling a little down and it sucks that I can't get in to see her until next month.
Hello and welcome! I love love love to travel! Do you have anything planned? Favorite destination?
I don't have experience with the abnormal pap/colposcopy, but wanted to welcome you. I'm glad that you have an OB you trust and like; that's really a good start.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

Thank you! I'm in Spain right now...meeting up with a friend tomorrow to hike the Camino de Santiago trail. H and I are doing a long weekend in Miami next month...that's one of my faves, I lived there for 3 years and love going back for a visit. How about you? I'm glad to see fellow travelers on this board! Even though no one IRL knows we are planning to TTC, I get a lot of "enjoy it now" comments that get under my skin. I know people who travel with babies/kids!
Oh yay, I love Spain! I may ask for Miami advice at some point, as were planning to stop there on our next sabbatical trip, in early 2017.
We get so many comments when we travel with our DS (3 now), like our month long Europe trip (mostly Spain!) when he was 22 months. "You're brave" was the most common. Eh, we just like to trace!

How did you approach planning travel while TTC and pregnant? I don't want to put our life on hold indefinitely, but it feels weird to plan any long trips when I know we will be trying.
Welcome! I don't really have any advice on the pap - but I am glad that your doctor is enthusiastic. I'd definitely speak to her before trying though because I am just a naturally cautious person.
We also like to travel a bit - and since we plan trips no more than 3 - 4 months out, it hasn't been too much of an issue. You could always make sure that anything you book is fully refundable or have trip insurance in place if you don't want to chance it.

That's been a tea struggle right now, TBH, as were TTC #2. The first took about 6mo. This time, we knew that we weren't doing any huge trips, because MH gets a sabbatical very 4 years, which is when we do a big trip. I held off until I knew that I'd at least be in the safe zone for travel (I.r., not third tri, basically), but otherwise tried not to hold off much. I'm also a runner, and once I started registering for things without holding back for hope I would get pregnant, I felt a lot better.
