Apparently they narrowed it down to one person for the final interview, I was under the impression it would be multiple people. I am wondering if this will be an internal hire.

Thanks guys. Her rejection email was so complimentary (she was especially impressed with TTH, which she also mentioned in the interview) but that doesn't help because I'm all "so why wasn't I a good candidate?"
HoneySpider I think something really awesome is coming your way.....it's just taking longer to "bake."
Of all the jobs I've applied for there is one specifically that I REALLY want...and my status has been "under review" which is the best status you can have there....holding out hope for an interview.

I'm so sorry That is very frustrating, especially when it's a job you actually want. So many ((hugs)) and prayers...I agree with MrsMB...a great job is still "baking" and right around the corner. Any employer would be so lucky to have you because you're awesome! Hang in there friend!
HoneySpider "Under Review" sounds like Taleo software. Is that what your status says on your application? If so, that's a system I've used that in the past. That is good. I would use LinkedIn and find people in that department to link in with. I hate to say this, but a lot of the larger places get so many applications that the the managers will sometimes drop names to the recruiters of people to look out for in the midst of all the applications. It couldn't hurt to connect with people who may be in that department.

Thanks, I didn't think of that but will definitely do.
Yes my status is "under review." I've applied for other positions there and I always go to in progress and then, when I get the rejection email, not selected. So I know UR is good
This is DH's university and I'm pretty sure his status was UR for the entire time he was interviewing, maybe even until after he accepted the offer. I also know they are notorious for taking FOREVER on hiring.
