My OB has prescribed progesterone that I've been taking for my first few weeks. My first appointment isn't until Monday. I've noticed the last few days after I eat lunch, I feel very very dizzy. Yesterday I googled dizzy and pregnant in the first trimester and it came up as low blood pressure.
We have an RN on staff so I went to her and had her take my blood pressure. It was 80/58. I had her take it a little bit later and it was 82/60. Throughout the day she took it again before I left and it was 84/58. I am typically textbook for my blood pressure at 120/80.
I called and left a message for my OB and a nurse called me back saying that it is normal. It can also be a side effect of the progesterone. I just ate breakfast this morning and am experiencing the same effects: extreme light headedness, balance issues, and kind of a beer goggle effect.
Has anybody else experienced this? The intense dizziness seems to be just after I eat, but the light headedness lingers. My OB nurse wasn't too concerned but I'm not sure what I can change in my diet that might prevent this. Google has not been very helpful.

I have no help, my dizziness usually comes when I need to eat or drink water. (Are you drinking enough water?)
I also have low pressure generally, so standing up too fast makes me dizzy/gives me tunnel vision exc. pregnancy just seems to pronounce this. My OB doesn't seem concerned though.
I hope you can get some answers. That sounds so frustrating.

I didn't deal with this specific issue myself, but I have low blood pressure issues generally.
Drink lots and lots of water. It helps. Also you may not do well with larger meals. Try eating smaller snack portions throughout the day. This should reduce the dizziness.
I hope it's just a temporary condition for you. My blood pressure is actually better during pregnancy since I'm no longer low but average for the first time in my life.
Changing what you eat won't help, unfortunately. The issue is that your blood is diverted to your stomach after you eat to digest your food. Because your pressure is low, the blood is not returning to the rest of your body fast enough. Lots of water to make sure you have adequate blood volume, and try eating tiny meals frequently so less blood is needed to digest.
I had low BP with both pregnancies. It gets better but progesterone does cause it and it's normal. Drink water, get off your feet and you can try to increase your salt intake and see if it helps.
