I would want lighter than any of those options. If that's the most light the room ever gets, it would be like being in a cave! Maybe nice for sleeping but so dreary to try to do ANYthing else like get dressed, pick an outfit, or even put away clean laundry.
I like waterscape. We used to have a really dark bedroom and I loved it. It was fun, cooler in the summer and was sexy.
All of our clothes were in a walk in closet, so putting them away or choosing an outfit wasn't a big deal, and the only mirror was in the bathroom, so seeing things well in there wasn't important. We had an overhead light if we really needed it, but we didn't use it much.
I'm down with bolder, darker colors. I think Heron is TOO dark, but I chose waterscape. We went with gray in the master and it looks good, but I sometimes wish we went even darker than we did. We have white/green bedding and accessories and bright white trim, which I think is helpful because it really pops.
