My 3 yr old is having a tantrum at 5am. I don't even care - I am just ignoring but I am up for work anyway. Feel bad for my h and my neighbours )townhouse) The things she says are hilarious. 'Mommy you aren't doing it right. Mommy why aren't you listening to me. Mommy I love you. Mommy you are my best friend'. It's cracking me up and breaking my heart. Cry it out was easier when she was a little baby blob.

Night three of operation night wean was a success! This time he slept 7-3 straight through. H got up with him and got him back to sleep in 5 minutes or so then he slept until 5:30. Last week he was waking up 4 times and nursing each time so we've made a lot of great progress!
DD decided that 4:45 was a good time to start the day. I nursed her, rocked her, changed her, and she was still wide awake and fighting me to go back to sleep. Finally I gave in and brought her downstairs and she crawled around the living room. I just put her back down and shes sleeping, but of course Im wide awake. I am, however, enjoying the quiet time by myself, watching tv, eating breakfast and paying bills. Exciting stuff.
Early morning here too. Ds2 did great and slept 8.5 hrs, but the trade off was him being wise awake at 5am. I'm not sure if going to sleep again at 6:30 was first nap or night sleep
Didn't sleep well. The baby just woke up again at 6 but I nursed her in bed and she fell asleep. Now I remember why I like side lying nursing. Busy day today with my parents here. Setting up for the bday party tomorrow, entertaining them, last minute Errands
I woke up thinking it was Saturday. At least it's Friday and should be an easy day at work.
Does anyone else's kid wake up crying / yelling everyday? I have never hear him giggling or playing. I'm jealous of everyone's kids who will play for an hour after they wake up!
DD still refuses to sleep under blankets or in a sleep sack. She sleeps in cotton pajamas and socks under a footed fleece sleeper, but she still wakes up whimpering about being cold sometimes. In addition to the blankets that are normally on her bed, she also insists on having three A&A swaddle blankets and two fuzzy baby blankets in her bed, so she's not lacking in options; she just won't USE any of them. *sigh*

Hmm, have you tried a sleeping bag?
DD is still wearing sleepsacks at 2.5 - without feet even. I just ordered some summerweight ones. I can't imagine, with all she moves, that she'll ever keep a blanket on

Oooh, that's a good idea. She watched the Doc McStuffins episode about a sleepover recently and has been wanting to play sleepover with me, so that might just work!! Thanks!

L goes from sound asleep to standing up at the crib rails crying/screaming in 0.002 seconds. There is no "stirring" or entertaining himself for awhile. We're trying to work on it but so far there hasn't been much improvement.

Does anyone know of a photo editor that I can use to blur things/put black marks on? I want to share the final version of L's birthday invite but I don't want my address and contact info out there. I'm on an iPad.

My first 2 were like that. Even when they could get out of beds they still yelled until 3ish. The 2 yo will call from his crib "All done mommy!" Yesterday I went to check on him and he said "No, no mommy. I'm not done yet." 45 mins later he called that he was done.
I started my 3-hour glucose test a little while ago. I forgot my paperwork, so the girl did my fasting bloodwork, gave me the drink and when I finished, she let me go home for an hour! Wooo. I will probably go back in about 20 minutes since there is too much temptation here.
We are headed down the shore tonight for the weekend. My MIL lives there (about 2 hours away) and tomorrow we are attending Olaf's birthday bash. DD is going to freak out (in a bad way) when she sees all these life-size Disney characters.
Off work today to prep for the big 1st birthday party tomorrow. I was off yesterday, too, but got a call from daycare that DS may have pink eye. I spent the better portion of my day running back to the house for the diaper bag, running back to daycare to get DS, running to the pedi, then waiting for his prescription. The good news is he doesn't have pink eye, but the pedi put him on drops anyway to clear up his eye gunk.
Hopefully today will be extra productive! I have to stop at Costco, party store, two bakeries, and the regular grocery store and decorate cookies. My sister comes to town tonight and I'm super excited to spend a little bit of time with her.
And, the obligatory I can't believe my baby is turning 1!!! How has it really been a year??
I am at the point that I'm irritated with pretty much everyone and shouldn't leave my house.
My FIL's birthday is tomorrow, and while he is a very nice man, I really don't want the baby to be born then because my MIL has not dropped it since they found out I was pregnant. (Wow, March 28 would be PERFECT! Wouldn't it be neat if the baby was born on Dad's birthday? Of course, the baby wanted to wait to share a birthday with Grandpa! And I would have to hear about it for the rest of time approximately once a month at minimum.)
And my sister is sick, so she can't visit if the baby is born in the next few days.
If I go one more place and get "You're still here?", I am going to probably burst into tears.
And it's not even my due date yet. Back off, people.
After being at work until 7:30 last night, I do not want to be here today. Plus my team is driving me crazy. I don't understand adults that have to hand held for their jobs. You should know the processes and policies by now.
E threw a fit at daycare drop off. I don't even know what set her off but she was a total PITA. Add to that I had to clean the carpet from some random stain (probably the dog) and we were running so behind.
It's my last Friday at work!!! I bought my staff 50 timbits because I wanted a couple. lol.
Oh, DD is sick again…I mean, it's probably the same thing as last week…her fever has ended up with a runny nose, which is essentially all she every gets anyways, but seriously, this kid has had a runny nose for 6 months. And baby runny noses are just gross!
greycat DS goes through phases. He went through one where he'd wake up pissed and screaming/crying, now he just yells that the OK to Wake clock is broken "Mama the green light is broken. It's not coming on. I'm all done sleeping. Come get me."
Yesterday DH said that it was 8:03 when he woke up and he awoke to DS screaming at the top of his lungs that the green light was on and dada come get me right now.
I met DH and one of our friends for lunch on Wednesday. DH had an interview for a PT job (he's trying to get in PT and see what doors it might open up for a FT job) and he had on a shirt/tie.
I NEVER see him in a shirt/tie and I walked up to the restaurant and this guy caught my eye. I thought damn, he's hot.
I really wish this kid would let me sleep. He got up at about 5:45 and went back to bed at about 6:30. I got back to bed at about 7 and it's 7:30 now and he's been making noises this whole time. I don't even think he awake and he's not crying or fussing, but I can't sleep when he's making all these noises I'm not feeling great so I could use just a little more sleep but I don't think I'm going to get that. H can't really help because he's leaving for work soon. Ugh. At least it's the weekend so I can get some sleep tonight/tomorrow because H will get up with him. Will he ever sleep longer like he did last night?
M is obsessed with A's Elsa dress. He insists on wearing it whenever we are home. It is a 6x with hoops, so it is ridiculously big and floofy on him. <3
sjh722 I hear you - we have several family birthdays in June and I was crossing my fingers (and legs) that B wouldn't end up sharing anyone's birthday. And that was just like, my brother, not an IL.
Thank you. I feel like it's irrational, LOL, and I know it probably wouldn't be a huge deal. Like I said, my FIL is one of the nicest people I know. It's just annoying that it gets brought up constantly as a hypothetical and the baby's not even here yet. If they actually share a birthday, I would never hear the end of it. Ever.
And either way, if it's a boy, his name will be in honor of my FIL. FIL is Albert (and always tells the kids it's an old person name and not to use it, lol) - H suggested Alex as a similar "al" name alternative, and he and his dad are close and I like the name, so NBD. But I would have to hear it for the rest of my life from MIL that not only was it a BOY and born on his BIRTHDAY, they have the SAME NAME BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE SAME BIRTHDAY. She is slightly obsessive, ha.

DS won't stay under his blanket either. He sleeps in a sweatshirt, sweatpants, and thick socks. This is the only combo I found that prevents him from waking MOTN b/c he's cold.

I had to wake up my DS for school this morning and he was still super tired (per usual) and he opined "mama, how come I am too tired to wake up during the week but am not too tired in the morning on the weekend?" I don't know kid. GOOD QUESTION.

Could you make a fun game out of wrapping her up in her blankets like a burrito? That is how I had success getting DS to use his blankets when he was younger.
Ugh, DH and I are in such a weird rut. I feel like he's soooo easily irritated/offended these days, but I'm never allowed to show frustration or he gets all upset/down. I have no idea how to point out to him how irrational he is.
This morning, I asked him if when he got up (I get up first 90% of work mornings to do ALL of the day's prep) he wouldn't mind starting to make the bed. Well, I get back from my shower, he's up and downstairs and the bed's unmade. So I'm annoyed, but I just start doing it. Then he stomps up all "Why did you do that? I said I would do it!?" I feel like I can't say to him that he's not great on follow-thru, so I assumed he'd forgotten...
He also was really annoyed when he came up because last night he put a dirty glass next to the sink (a highball - he had a splash of bourbon last night) and I threw some ice pop tops in it AFTER IT WAS USED AND WAS DIRTY SITTING BY THE SINK that I neglected to throw out. Apparently he took a swig of water out of it this morning and was all "Why did you put GARBAGE in my glass!?!?"
WTF? Like - he's crazy to be angry, right? I admittedly forgot to throw the tops out, but it was a used, dirty alcohol glass by the sink - who on earth would assume it would be used at 6:45 am the next morning???
I feel like we need a reset. Fortunately we have a weekend away to ourselves next weekend and hopefully we can just shake it off and get grounded again. But blergh what a way to start a Friday.
