As I mentioned in the Randoms, we had another good night last night with an 8 hour stretch and only one wake up (down from 4 just last week!) We are on a roll!
If you night weaned, how long did it take your LO to STTN for the first time? How long for STTN to become a regular thing? Anything else you'd like to share about the process?
It took DS about 10 days to fully sleep train, I think (I really need to write this stuff down!). After that he was pretty regularly STTN. There were some set backs like when he really started to roll onto his tummy, and again when he was learning to crawl, but other then that he has been an excellent sleeper.
We did sleep training and night weaning at the same time. DD was 7.5 months and it took about three nights, the first one was super miserable though. DS was at 5.5 months and it took about a week of fairly non miserable crying. Both were sleeping through the night consistently after that outside of bad teething or being sick.
My kid isn't a great sleeper. Night weaning cut down the wakeups dramatically but did not eliminate them. Even at 2 early morning wakeups are still a challenge for us.
3 nights with Ferber at 6 months with dd1. She night weaned and sttn at the same time.
Dd2 we did not Ferber (well we did at 4 months to get down to 1-2 feelings a night but not after that). She randomly STTN 6 nights in a row at 11 months. On the 7th night she woke up and I sent H in to put her back down and that was that, she has STTN since.
We went from nursing 2-3x MOTN to a bottle of WCM. Within one night she was on 1-2x per night getting a bottle of milk. This lasted 2 months until we had enough and stopped giving MOTN bottles. She started STTN with a day or two of that.

Send to Grandma.
Seriously, the first few times she STTN it was at Grandma's (around 18 months, from 12-18 months were about 1 feed a night and I was okay with it because she was MSPI and it meant less pumping for me during the day). We were able to carry that over to home with DH going in, but first she needed a change in scenery to break up the habit.
I night weaned at 10.5 months, I think it was two weeks before he slept 10-11 hours. Another two weeks before it was consistent. So, a month total? I know by his birthday we had claimed success.
He still woke early, like 5 or 5:30 for awhile. Eventually I dropped that feed too. But it took much longer for him to adjust and sleep later. I think until he dropped down to one nap around 15 months. It was so much better than getting up multiple times though!
I posted about this a few days ago. The first night C woke up once and I let him CIO with one visit to his room to soothe. The next three nights he STTN with no issues. Don't hate me.
We didn't until ds1 was 15 months old, but it he started sttn within days of dh taking over bedtime and motn. He was sttn 50% of nights within 2 weeks and shortly thereafter he started sttn 10hrs every night. The trade off was a 5am start to the morning for a year
DD hasn't nursed at night in a while. She still wakes up crying a couple times a night, but I wait 5-10 mins before going in there and usually she is already back asleep before I get there.
