I am in Vegas for work and my upcoming travel schedule is insane. I have three major tradeshows and 4 dinners in the next 6 weeks. I eint be home at all, and I have been having a really tough time with the travel. I am so tired and feel off.
Then I found out I didn't get the promotion/transfer so I won't be able to be a remote employee now. I lost it. I had this image in my mind that I was going to get this job and we were going to move to RI and be near my mom and have a house and more space and this is where we would have the baby and it just is not happening that way now.
I will be fine and we will find a new great plan and a new place to live in Boston with more space but I was overtired and overwhelmed and cried. I am flying all day tomorrow and just want to go home.
I'm so sorry you didn't get the promotion/transfer. You seem like you have a good attitude about staying in Boston though. I'm really glad you get to go home soon.

Oh, gosh! I'm so sorry about not getting the promotion.
I see that you are 14+ weeks. I travel for business as well (not as much as you), but I can say that 2nd trimester was a WHOLE different ballgame for me. After 15 weeks, I got my energy back and felt more like myself and traveling became a breeze again. Hang in there, it will get better. Any chance you can modify your traveling at the beginning of your third trimester? While I technically could travel up to 32 weeks (per doctor's orders), my boss was understanding when I told him that I was too physically uncomfortable to travel past 28 weeks. He understood and I was able to discontinue my travel.
That really sucks. You ladies who travel for work while pregnant or after baby, or those who move cities/houses/etc while pregnant, I really feel for. It's enough for me to make it through the normal day and think about eventually doing a nursery.

I am going to be stopping travel starting in July at 28 weeks. I just need to get through June. June will be a lighter month for me as well, so really its April and May I need to push forward then I can get some time to relax.
Oh, I'm so sorry preppy. I can't imagine doing your schedule while pg. Don't feel bad about crying, it is so tough and overwhelming and it is totally find to let it out! I"m really sorry about the job too. I'm sure that something great will be coming around the corner for you.
ETA: Oh and don't you have a trip to Hawaii coming up in May? That's something awesome to look forward too! Sometimes when life feels like it sucks it really helps to have something great to look forward too. Just imagine a week on the beach!!!
Awwwww, I hope you feel better. Traveling so much for work can be super exhausting, and add a pregnancy to that, I totally get you...
I'm sorry about the promotion... But I always like to think things happen for a reason, and you might find a better opportunity in the future.
Many hugs!!!!
I agree with this. The new role was also heavy in travel so maybe I will find something that is lighter on travel which will make life easier when the baby comes.
I'm sorry.. I know tradeshows are SO hard, especially while pregnant I imagine.
It is just SO much time on your feet and its really hard to keep up with eating and drinking water. I have just been so exhausted every night. I am hoping the other 3 I have coming up will be easier since maybe I will have more energy soon.

YES. Ugh I am so excited about Hawaii, though honestly I am wondering if it was a little overzealous to plan a trip with such a long flight at that point but oh well. That will be after the crazy season ends so I am going to completely shut off work and relax for those 10 days.

What industry are you in? if you don't mind me asking. I hated working tradeshows SO much. They are so mentally and physically exhausting.

(((Preppy))) I am so sorry. Definitely ditto to the posters who say don't give up. Be good to yourself tonight and try to get some rest. You're amazing!

I work in healthcare technology so I attend medical tradeshows aimed at physicians and healthcare executives. I do all the planning and pre-show marketing then manage onsite as well. It's exhausting!

Thank you:) I bought a LUSH bath bomb last night and I am planning a bath and room service tonight before my flight tomorrow. And lots of SLEEP.

I worked in the security technology industry and I helped with the planning and setting up/tearing down. When I traveled to places like Vegas people were like "Cool you get to go to Vegas on the company"! and I was like "riiighhhtt.." Not fun lol. I didn't do it a ton though, I only traveled like 10% though, so major props to you!
