Amnio results came back free of genetic abnormalities, which is great. I've already been in contact with CHOP- we are scheduled for more testing there April 9 & 10. They do an MRI, ultrasound & echocardiogram on the baby to see if we qualify for the surgery. The specialist we saw in MT said he thinks we have a good chance of being approved. If they'll do the surgery, it's scheduled for April 15. I'll be in the hospital for about 4 days, on strict bed rest for 3-4 weeks, then on modified bed rest until baby is born. A c-section will be scheduled for 37 weeks, but the average gestational age after this surgery is 34 weeks. The worst part of the recovery is that I'll have to stay in Philadelphia from April 9 to whenever the baby is released from the NICU...around July 24. My H can't be there the whole time, and I need a caregiver, so I'm recruiting family to make the trip out there & sit around with me. I have to be close to CHOP because I can't labor at all- it's too dangerous with the incision they make in the uterus. I'm on the waiting list for the Ronald McDonald house. My sisters are planning some fundraisers locally. And I'm assuming I'll lose my job because I'll be gone more than 12 weeks. I have to talk to HR tomorrow. So, if we do have this surgery, it's going to be tough. But it's best for the baby so we'll do it. Does that mean I'm already a parent?
And thank you, everyone, for all the good wishes after my last post. I've read all the blogs I was PMed. Most of all, thank you to abcdefu for being willing to answer my questions!

I'm glad you've had some good news and it sounds like there's a solid team and plan in place. It still sounds very overwhelming though, so wishing you all the best!!!

RMH is a great organization and you will be in great hands at the House. I wish all the best for you/baby and that a room opens for you. The people at RMH are amazing.

Sending you (((hugs))) and want to say that you'll be in absolutely great hands at CHOP. I live an hour from Philly and the work they do there is simply amazing!
Good luck and hugs to you! Some of the local hotels have special rates for CHOP families, if you can't get in to RMH right away.
My contact at CHOP gave me that info too - so far they've been really great about answering aaaaall my questions & telling me things I hadn't even considered.
Oh, the good news is that this helped convince my H that we should find out the sex of the baby (he was firmly team green... for years before we even thought about babies)...
