Last Sunday my eye lids swelled up and I got small breakouts on my cheeks and forehead. I just finished my prednisone treatment and have had a steroid cream for my eyes and face. The eyes have gone down, but the break out is worse. It was almost gone this morning, but now it's back and my face is super hot.
I haven't been wearing makeup at all. I can't think of anything different that I've done. I was outside last weekend and this weekend. I generally do not have allergies, does this just start? Would a dermatologist be worth seeing? My general doctor retired and I haven't found a new one yet so I've just been going to urgent care. I'm starting to get concerned this is still flaring.
I was starting to wonder too if it is stress. I don't think I've had much more than normal life stress at the moment. It's weird that it is only on my face and no where else.
Most people were out last week with Spring Break, but they'll all be back tomorrow. I hope I wake up and it's all magically gone!!
Have you eaten anything unusual lately? MH developed hives last year after eating calamari, and then again after eating squid prepared a different way, despite never having a reaction to squid in the past. He was on blood pressure meds at the time, though, so maybe they combined for a bad reaction or something. I don't think he's had squid since.

Seafood that is less fresh sometimes releases histamine. So occasionally people show reactions to seafood for the first/only time and they are actually reacting to the histamine, not the fish itself.
So bottom line, I'd avoid a restaurant where this happened. And speak with an allergist about an epi pen just in case.
