Not sure if I need to start a new thread, so hopefully those that asked for an update will see it here Today was good! I really just walked around meeting people all morning, learned a little more about the program, and observed some of the stuff I will be training on all afternoon. Everyone is very nice. I don't have a computer yet, and I didn't see my office, but apparently the one I'll be in for the next few months is very nice and then they are going to move me somewhere closer (it's kind of far away now).
A new job is so awkward, following people around all day. But I think it will be good.
Also, tomorrow, I'm observing a rectal and prostate exam. LOL. This is a HUGE change from my old job.... I've never worked in medicine before but it should be interesting...
Why do you need to see a prostate exam? I need more info please
Lol right? I am going to be training people who act like patients - people that med students get to practice on. Right now I'm learning how the training goes. Tomorrow is male and female day! I think I'm also going to see some sort of female exam but that isn't quite as...odd?...to me.
I mean, it's medicine so I'll be an adult and get used to it. But it's a far cry from anything I ever expected to be doing at work!
I work for a hospital, so, duh, it involves medicine but whenever I have to edit a patient education binder on their surgery procedure, I get a bit weirded out.
My current one is something about ileoanal procedures, but I don't even really want to look at it, lol. My last one involved sketches of sex positions for people who have had hip surgery.......
Sounds like a good first day. And tomorrow? Wow... Straight to the fun, eh?
hamster, I feel you. My job has me discussion crotch straps (like for a seat belt). crotch heights, crotch depths, etc. it's so hard not to be 12. Sex positions for hip replacements would be so hard not to giggle through.
