I had a big long wall I wanted art for in my new combined kitchen/dining room, but it was hard to find a set of prints, and something that would fit the weird mix of traditional and modern I have going on in there. I finally bought these prints off etsy. Then frames from IKEA. Then realized I got the wrong frames, and back to IKEA with @foodielicious . And then custom mats at Michael's for a ridiculous amount of money, and then realized the new bigger frames barely fit in the space I had planned. But, I think in the end I like it. Still wish the "ivory" paper was a little less yellow, but overall I love the designs and color for the space. It's hard to tell from the pic but the frames are a dark glossy grey.
I don't think the frames look too big. A little oversized in a smaller space looks good sometimes. And the ivory works with your wall color. Now that I look at it, white could have been too stark.
I love that you centered the collection over the pass through. It helps join those two rooms together.
lol, I kind of hope the artist never finds out that I discounted her artistic vision and hung the vertical piece horizontal...but I knew I wanted a long piece in the middle and two square on the outside, and I think it still works. :-)
I agree that all white would have been too stark, but in that case I would have done a colored mat. I just wish the paper was a true-er ivory rather than almost a light yellow. I don't hate it, but I'd definitely prefer different (and since she prints on demand you'd think finding different paper wouldn't be a big deal, but...oh well.)
