It's just me and dd2 today. It's so quiet, but everything in the house is sticky and the paperwork for the listing that I'm trying to input is now covered in coloring and milk.
DS slept in until 7:45, amazing! Especially considering DH accidentally left the heat off and the house is FREEZING. He's building a fire right now though, so the living room should be warm soon. DD is gonna screeeeech from the cold when I change her diaper in a moment.
I applied for an ideal job last night, and I think my resume will actually relate!
It's a job at a univ. that's about 1.5 hours away though
Where does your DH work in relation to the university? Could you move to split the distance? I have a 45 minute commute, and while it's not ideal, it's totally manageable.
Also, look into commuter vans. Not sure if they're a thing where you are, but around me there are companies that run carpool vans for people with long commutes so only one person has to drive and the rest can relax, sleep, read, etc on the way so it's not as much wasted time in the car.
Today is my first day of not having to go into work after being laid off. I'm torn between being happy I don't have to do it and slight panic over not having a job.
So far no calls back for interviews but I submitted my resume a few more places so, fingers crossed!
DS has a follow up to check his stitches today. They look great to me, even if he does look a little like Frankenstein still
Mine is not quite so nice it says it's supposed to hover around freezing, but considering my outdoor thermometer says 40 already, I suspect the weather network is being conservative

AmyRI it's not close to where DH works either. Say our city is a clock. We live at 11, he works at 4, and the job I'm looking at is near 8. So they're all really spread out. We did discuss either looking for somewhere between his job and this one if I get it, or he is willing to look in other school districts. But yeah, if I got this job and took it, we would move. I can't handle that long of a commute for very long.
It was a rough night. DS kept waking himself up and needed rocking to get back to sleep. My husband is completely useless when it comes to soothing the baby. Then I still have a shitton of plugs, so I'm waking up every 3 hours and pumping a whopping 2oz each time. Not going to cut it.

I normally hate April Fools day stuff, but DS really wants to engage in some whoopee cushion tomfoolery with my H, so I am debating trying to find a B&M store in my town that sells whoppee cushions.
I bought Meijer brand diapers for DD, thinking that yay, we can save money and their overnight diapers are $10 less PER BOX than Huggies. Well, nope. Not going to work. DD wore them at daycare yesterday and had a major rash/reaction to them. Boo. My kids are apparently Pampers/Huggies for lyfe.
We spent time at my pregnant (so, still without a kid running around) friend's house last night and it was so organized and clean and everything had a place. And she's 9 weeks pregnant and ALREADY HAS THE NURSERY PAINTED. And then I came home to my disaster of a house and I've been feeling way to dramatic about the lack of time I have to do what needs to get done ever since.
None of us slept well last night. I fell asleep around 11, after which H got up to get a snack. Then he was in the office watching TV so loud it woke me up at 11:30. I didn't fall back asleep until 1. DS1 came in sometime after that, and H put him back to bed. DS2 woke up at 5. I got him back down, then DS1 came to my bed at 5:45 but fell back asleep. We all woke up to DS2 screaming at 6:30.
I'm teaching my first distance class via Skype during DS2's nap, so I don't even get to rest :-( But I'm excited to teach the class, so that's good.
A's school starts at 8, but they are not late until 8:15. She woke me up at 7:46 (my alarm wasn't set for some reason). I had her to school at 8:11. M was still in his pajamas and I didn't have coffee, but she was fed, dressed, had money for a picture with the easter bunny, and nobody cried.
@vicmo, I'm jealous that Bas will actually use the word car. AJ is convinced they are, in fact, called "go go"s and will only refer to them as such. My car? Go go. Cars on the road? Go go. His toy cars at home? Go go. His riding toys? Yep, go go. Airplane are airplanes (well, airpaaaaane), trucks are tuks, trains are choo choos...but cars are go gos.
My 9am feeding eval cancelled somewhere between 8am and 830am. So I've got nothing until 11am at the earliest. This means I get to GBCN, then do some work, and maybe go to Starbucks. My productivity is going to suck this week but this is a big spring break week for area districts so everyone's numbers suck. Makes me feel a little better.
Cruised through Atlanta security with a cooler full of breastmilk, no questions asked. Nice.
Related question: a few bags of milk got icy/slushy in the mini fridge last night. Keep or toss? They are currently on ice in a cooler, but may be back to liquid by the time I get home in 3 hours. Think they would be okay to send to daycare tomorrow? (The non-slushy bags are going directly into the freezer when I get home.)
My H is ridiculous and called my work BFF this morning (we all work for the same company) and told her, "Glitzy doesn't want to say anything yet, but I wanted to tell you that she's glowing." Which, she obviously knows that it's April Fool's Day (and knows that I had my period last week), so she was quick on her feet and responded, "Yes, she actually did tell me. Except it's not yours; it's one of the musicians she slept with on vacation a few weeks ago. So, joke's on you!" Hardy-har-har-har.
In unrelated news, C has a GIANT bruise above his eyebrow that just showed up today from Saturday afternoon. I was vacuuming and he came up behind me as I was pulling the vacuum backwards. It hit him (really hard) right in the forehead and he fell flat on his back. I felt so horrible. And now he has evidence on his forehead!

I would send them tomorrow. Maybe write "use first" on them.
C is 1 today. He's on the floor playing with his Little People (great gift suggestion!). We're still BFing at night, which amazes me. I'm still 30 pounds overweight. Still no PP period (Mirena-assisted).
Happy Birthday to our birthday twin! Are you guys doing anything special today?
Nope...doctor's office for well-baby check. We had a family party last Saturday.
Our alarms have been waking up DS in the mornings and he is GROUCHY when he wakes up earlier than usual (he is definitely my child).
I guess we need to start using the white noise machine. I am annoyed because we made it almost a year without needing it; I don't want to add another item to all of our baby gear that we lug around!

This is a FB repeat, but omg look at the butter Dunkins put on my bagel this morning! I almost turned around because I thought it was cream cheese. Gag
My dose of newborn snuggles this weekend plus the newborn picture thread plus finding my last weekly bump pic (at 39w exactly) while looking for newborn pics equals me maybe thinking having another baby wouldn't be so bad. IF J gets a different job. I love babies but I love my sanity more, and with his current schedule the latter will go out the window if I'm wrangling a toddler and an infant on my own.
16 week appointment today and while I'm Excited to hear the HB, I'm getting anxious to make it 3.5 more weeks until my AS. I want to know everything is ok with this little one and if it's a boy/girl.
The past 24 hours have been the worst ever…but, I made it through without going to the hospital for an IV. Back at work now, although I should probably be at home but I just couldn't do another day at home, too much to do here and I needed to get out of that house. DD seems fine…DH is okay, by no means 100% but okay. I still feel 'off' but at this point I can a) sit up and b) keep water down. I just had a bagel too, essentially my first food in more than 24 hours, and so far so good. I lost 3 lbs in 24hours, which is actually less than I thought I might.
