DD woke up with a bit of a cough today that sounds SORT of like croup. She's not coughing a lot, and it's just one cough here and there, but I am keeping a *very* close eye on it because I do not like the way it sounds.
I slept like shit last night and was up until 11:30 with some random coughing. I just want all of us to be healthy again.
sometimes I'm ready to be done with family. h and I both have a week off in May, tenatively planned to visit one sister 8 hours away, but it's not great timing for her (totally understandable and we see her every couple months so nbd). then another sister is going to be in a city 6 hours away and was begging all of us to come there. when I emailed her last night for more details she "doesn't have any concrete plans, maybe just go ahead with other sister."
grrrr. I think we'll just go ahead and plan a trip and if family fits in great, if not I DONT CARE. i kind of want to take off to Mexico or Hawaii, but that's probably a stretch for our budget.
Not sure who I was kidding when I bought Easter candy on Monday, thinking it would actually make it til Easter. Looks like I will be going out Saturday for more Reeses eggs.
We're currently in the process of finishing our basement, and DH has discovered Pinterest to look for ideas. Now he's all "ZOMG, look! DIY shuffleboard made out of pallets!" And now he's getting mad at me for shooting down his ideas. Dude, we don't even play shuffleboard.
I had to remind myself that I can't go off on friends of friends on facebook. it's not mmm. your friends are spared today @deej. sorry you didn't get much sleep last night.
My pms the last few cycles has been unbelievably bad. For sorry for my husband lol.
I just ran four miles, hopefully that helps. I could have gone longer but I'm getting a tinge of pain outside of my right knee. Only when I try to increase my distance and I don't feel it when I walk.
DD is 19 months and has just entered the "I PICK OUT MY CLOTHES" phase by demanding that DH change her pink pants to jeggings after I had left for work. She got them from the drawer and followed him around yelling at him until he changed them for her.
Still feeling like I got hit by a bus, but I'm here at work. It's quarter end and I have no one else in my department that knows my job. I keep saying I need some sort of back up, but my supervisor says it's not a problem. Probably because I come in sick to get my work done if needed.
I'm making a very long list of things to go over once we start discussing maternity leave. Except, nobody knows I'm pregnant yet, so the discussion won't be for a while.
A is so excited about april fools day. I need to think of a joke to play on her. Anyone have any ideas?
I'm not sure how old A is, but I saw a picture where a mom had cut out several letter "e" from brown construction paper, then gave their kid a plate of "brownies".
DS has started saying something that sounds suspiciously like, "hi dada" while looking directly at DH. I get nothing but babble-babble-babble directed at me.
There is no justice in this world. DD's first word was also "dada."
Last week I toured a few neighborhood preschool programs. I posted on my local moms group asking for feedback on one of them since they don't have much of an online presence. I got a ton of emails about what a wonderful place it is. Then one lady tells me it's a great school, but she wishes they didn't rely on unhealthy snacks so much. What kinds of unhealthy snacks are they serving? Cheerios. Lollollol. Turns out they only have one spot left, and it's full time which we can't afford, so we arent signing him up, but Iim sure they'd hate what I'd bring in for snack if they think Cheerios are unhealthy.
Welcome to the big leagues, brooklyn! This shit never ends. Every school year, there are a few very vocal parents who try to overhaul the snacks at DD's elementary school. And every year (well, 2 so far), some poor person on the PTA is charged with doing a cost analysis and comes back and says that organic snacks would cost x per year and that the school can't cover that, so each family would have to contribute y amount. Then everyone shuts up... until next year, I'm sure!
I had to remind myself that I can't go off on friends of friends on facebook. it's not mmm. your friends are spared today @deej. sorry you didn't get much sleep last night.
MOTY-completely spaced that daycare is closed Friday for a staff day. Momma is DESPERATE for a cut and color. So DH is going to go in early, meet me at the salon to get E and take off the rest of the day b/c I wanted to sneak in a pedi as well.
My birthday is Pearl Harbor day. I have survived, despite my grandparents' insistence on recounting for years what a horrible day it was and exactly where they were when they heard the news. You can't choose when you're born!
Something amazing happened this morning. DD sat in her room and "read" books to herself for almost 10 minutes while H and I lounged in bed! She initially woke up about ten minutes before we normally wake and demanded to be up. I tried to get her to come to our bed for cuddles (and more rest for us, lol), but she left, went back to her room (right down the hall from ours) to look at books. It felt like such a treat.

We're getting our new dining room table today! I'm so psyched to graduate from my 10-year-old IKEA table. Stuck in the house all morning waiting for delivery, though.
DS1 was very confused by the empty dining room. He insisted we eat our breakfast picnic style in the middle of the rug.
I might need to have more kids. One week postpartum, I am six pounds below pre-pregnancy weight and my stomach is flatter than it has been in years. Meanwhile, when I desperately try to lose weight, it is an epic fail. I am going to enjoy this while it lasts!
What we have watched in the last two and a half hours:
one half of Monsters, Inc. two minutes of The Lorax one third of Despicable Me 47 minutes of Frozen 3 minutes of Finding Nemo (so far)
And now 16 minutes of Frozen and she's asking for "monsters? Monsters?" again. I'm caving because she's sick and pretty pathetic but this is driving me nuts. I WANT TO FINISH THE GODDAMN MOVIE. lol
ETA: I'm just going to keep a running list of my sick child parenting. lol
Sorry! This was us last night, except it was Daniel Tiger, Calliou, and Frozen. 10 minutes at a time!!
@marshmallows and others who posted the "Through the Heart" PSA on their FB today, how bitchy is it on a scale of 1-10 if I post that in response to the idiot FB friend I have who makes a fake pregnancy announcement EVERY YEAR on 4/1?
For bitchiness background, last year I ran into her on the street on 4/1 and said, "oh, I decided not to announce this" (pointing at my belly) "on FB because nobody takes pg announcements seriously on there." She was completely unfazed.

Last day in Puerto Rico today. I sure miss my DS. We face timed him yesterday and he was so confused. He also looked so different! I can't wait to hug him.
We have had a great time, so many wonderful experiences. This trip was definitely not MM though, whoa.
