I am starting to plan for trips (likely beginning around this time next year) that I just won't be able to put together on my own (well, I'd prefer not).
I've heard great things about Virtuoso agents, but I would really appreciate any personal recommendations. If you don't feel comfortable posting, a PM would be amazing as well.
I have a long list (surprise, surprise) of trips that we'd like to do, and they range from outdoorsy experiences like safaris to relaxing experiences like renting a french chateau for an extended time in southern france.
I've never used one because I like to plan myself but this is my dream job.
Even if you're good at/enjoy planning, the right travel agent can get you a lot of perks. That's what I use them for -- I pick everything out myself in control freak fashion, but have them do the booking.

I've looked into it before and it's just never been worth it.

It's also my dream job! I think i would be so good at this. Le sigh.
She helped us plan our honeymoon to Bora Bora and gave us great tips and ideas on how to save money which we splurged on other things but still...that's more things that we got to do. And I believe she is part of Virtuoso? I'm not sure how that works.
We even bought the travel insurance which we never do bit it worked out because we decided last minute (ok one month before) to splurge and go to Bora Bora instead of just Tahiti.
