I don't generally suffer from heartburn, I am pretty sure this bout is mostly related to the stomach bug I have been dealing with the past 36 hours. I am now dealing with brutal heartburn and apparently I am allowed all of 5 (!) Tums a day. Any suggestions?
I had horrid heartburn last week after a stomach big too!
I drank a glass of water with 1 tsp of baking soda in it and it calmed it down so I could sleep. If I'd had apple cider vinegar I would have done a teaspoon of that instead, but I was out. 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water (with a bit of honey of you need something to cut the flavor) should help.

You don't think its related to being 33 weeks? Also, is the 5 tums a Canadian thing? I ate Pepcid like it was candy when I was pregnant, but maybe they are more different than I realize. I hope you feel better soon!
I think it is definitely related to my pregnancy in that I presume my reactions to the stomach bug/Norwalk virus are impacted by the fact that my internal organs are all mushed up.
I thought the 5 tums seems odd but it says so on the bottle and I am a rule follower. Lol.
I get horrible heartburn during the second half of all my pregnancies so far. I'm not looking forward to it starting up soon again.
The tums in the USA also say 5 a day for pregnant people. I try to "save" them for the evening when my heartburn is worse. I try to avoid eating large meals after lunch, sleep elevated with an extra pillow under my head, etc.
