I'm debating whether to cut DD's hair or not. (She's almost 14 months.) The only long hair she has is a strip right down the middle of her head, like a mohawk, and it keeps falling in her eyes. I'm not sure if I should cut it, so everything can grow out together, or let it keep growing like a comb-over gone wild!?
Thoughts? Cut it to one length, or let the comb-over run free?

It entirely depends on your preference. Some cultures cut or shave babies' hair at a certain age so it will grow out even. Some wait until a later age before cutting at all. I only have boys so it's slightly different, but I trimmed their bangs when they started to get in their eyes. If I had a girl I would probably still trim anything in her eyes. I don't mind bangs and I am paranoid about babies pulling off hair clips/bows and choking on them.
Yeah, my DS was completely bald for ages, and didn't need even a trim until he was almost 2! So this is all new to me. I'm paranoid about clips too (plus, I hate the way they feel on me after a while, so I imagine it being uncomfortable for DD too.)

I vote leave it. I'm leaving my DD's hair in the hopes that it will grow long enough for beautiful ponytails soon. In the meantime, it's in her face a lot.

My daughter got a trim to help it form a bob around 18 months. She got another trim to do the same thing around 2. I haven't cut it since and she's 3. It's finally working for her, but there were some serious Mohawk looks going on.

I vote wait. I feel like the first haircut changes their look forever but I also have a hippie streak and love funny baby hair. My DD got her first/only cut recently at 2 1/2 to cut the mullet into a bob. Now I'll let it grow.
