For all of the allergy ladies. You can now buy prescription strength flonase over the counter. It is about one billion times better than any pill. Squirt it up your nose and feel like a normal person again.
You will go up to 14000 ft on the hike IIRC. It's a lot! The porter will help so much. I struggled with my bag. And my blisters. Oh, the blisters. I left my shoes in Lima on the way home.
I plan on carrying nothing but my water, camera/lenses, and a poncho. M and the porter can worry about everything else, LOL
Every morning but body glide and then a silky powder on your feet. I did this and didn't have a single blister from Everest.

I totally gigglesnorted at work because my boss send an email out to several people referring to his boss by Tommy (his name is Tom). I replied back to him and said "Did you REALLY just call Tom 'Tommy'??" Apparently, it was an autocorrect fail. Lol.

I posted last night in the Wednesday thread They've upped it to 2 open positions of the same title. In my mind, the perfect solution would be to hire me and work BFF, but there are 7 other candidates that have been interviewed, too.

I'm getting my legs waxed right now. I made this appointment last week when it was 75* and my legs had their own fur coat. Now there is 10 inches of snow on the ground but it is supposed to be 75 again tomorrow.
I use Flonase as well. I have the joy of needing to use it year round. I first started using it last winter. Not sure how I ended up with winter allergies but I did.
chalupa, crossing my fingers for you and your work BFF!

I got pizza for lunch from a new place. The woman working the register sounded distinctly Russian/Eastern European, so I was skeptical. But it was really good! I am now pleasantly stuffed.
I have been a total slack ass the last two weeks with school stuff. It is now crunch time and I need to get back into the groove to get all that I need finished by the 30th.
The worry is that I'm in a managerial position and have a lot of experience, comparatively. But would probably make 5k more a year as an HR admin there then as an HR Generalist here.

What are the chances of upward mobility in each position?

Well, my boss just told me that we are adding over 1,000 employees in the next year-ish. There's a big development going on. We would almost double. He told me my job would be staying the same and I wouldn't be doing anything different. But we'd be hiring a half-dozen new employees for other things, including other HR duties.
So, not a lot in my current job. I'm as high as it gets.
In this new one, the HR department is huge, the company is massive. I'd be working under VP's and with execs, so the word of mouth would definitely help if I were to internally apply for open positions. But no guarantees.

Obviously, there are no guarantees. Buuuuut, assuming you are offered the new position, this would be my deciding factor- opportunity for advancement and professional development.
