Hey ladies. I could use some good thoughts. I had my first appointment today. My doctor was super nice and used to work with my mom. She offered to send me for an ultrasound since she thought it was too early to check for a heartbeat using the Doppler. When I went to radiology, the tech was super quiet and turned the screen away from me. They sent me back upstairs to my doctors office.
My doctor told me that either baby is not developing, or my dates are off. She ordered a blood test to check my hormones and I go back on Monday for another draw to check them again.
I'm feeling like this is over. I'm pretty sure my dates are correct. I'll know more on Monday though.
Update: Doctor called back. My hormone level on the 16th was 37,443.9. When I went yesterday, it was 39,690. My doctor said at this point the number doesn't necessarily have to double and that it might be leveling off. I have a followup ultra sound Thursday afternoon.
Anyone have any experience with this? I don't know how to feel at this point! Thanks for all the thoughts and support, ladies! It has made me feel so much better the last few days.

I am sorry, this did happen to me and I won't lie, it ended in a loss...but lots of people have stories where things ended up okay. It's not over yet, you are pregnant now, hang in there and we will all keep positive thoughts

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Remember, it's still early, and at this stage it's very common for "dates to be off" or for babies to have a growth spurt.
I could've written this same post almost word for word. According to my LMP I should be 10w1d. Went last week for my first appt and bloodwork but just went today for my first ultrasound. Baby is measuring 6w6d. There was a fetal pole but no heartbeat. They took more blood to compare to my hcg levels from last week and will call me tomorrow with the results. I was devastated but my midwife seemed more optimistic. I'll be thinking of you and I hope it turns out well
This was me exactly this time around - I wasn't 100% about my dates, but I went for a US at 5w thinking I was closer to 7w. That ultrasound was hard and I was in limbo for a while. Maybe your doc can send you for betas?
Mine measured 8w2d (but looked healthy) on Monday when I was 9w1d, so measurements were off by almost a week. I was charting, and had really clear patterns the month I conceived, so I know damn sure that I wasn't "off" in my calculations. Hopefully yours is similar, and is just a little further behind.
