I love the show "Disappeared" on Investigation Discovery. It's on at 6 and 7am here so whenever I wake up early it's like a special treat to watch. Where did these people go???
We've been in the new house for 5 weeks and Crash is finally calming down. He clearly doesn't adjust well to change. Noted, dog.
As if I needed further proof that I am exhausted and not myself, I backed my car (slightly) into a hedge yesterday. Since my car is a delicate flower, not only do I have two scratches (I think they can be buffed out) but the paint scraped in two small spots.
This is almost two weeks after someone else tried to squeeze by my bumper and scraped up the side.
I can't win. And I am too tired to even be mad, it just sucks.
I just signed the mortgage rate lock for the new house and transmitted it as a cell phone pic attached to an email so I didn't have to drive to the bank. I'm really surprised it was acceptable.
I am a total "Disappeared" junkie. It's one of my favorite shows. I believe I've seen them all and still watch the re-runs. It's hard to imagine the pain their families and friends go through without maybe never getting any answers about where, why, what happened to these lost people.
There was a special "Disappeared" on recently that is still sticking with me. He was found, but it still seems like there is something puzzling or missing to this whole case, even though suicide was indicated. www.gainesvilletimes.com/section/6/article/109008/

My name is Pom. I am an I.D. tv addict.
I can't believe I missed the special! I am also an ID junkie. It drives DH crazy. This case was local to where we just moved from, and until they found the bodies this was the biggest mystery ever to me: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McStay_family_murder
I'm sad that they are not showing new episodes of Disappeared. I can compensate with Web of Lies, House of Horrors, or any of the Dateline/2020 variations, but it's still not the same.
My foster dog who went to her forever home yesterday might be returned today ? she is being aggressive with the cat. My friend, who is an excellent and highly qualified dog trainer offered to go over and help but the new owner has not responded yet. So sad.
Today is a beautiful day. I walked from the place where I park (instead of taking the bus like usual) and it only took about 20 minutes, so I may have to do that more often and get some exercise. Today was a perfect day for it since the weather is good, I was wearing comfy shoes, and didn't have much to carry. Other days it might be more annoying I guess.
I'm going to visit my sister/nephew this weekend, yay! Except I don't leave here until about 6:30 tonight. I am NOT looking forward to driving so late. But she works until 10-10:30 so there is not really a point in leaving earlier unless I want to hang out with BIL at their house with my nephew already in bed. I like my BIL and all, but I don't think that's an ideal evening for either us, I'm sure he'd rather relax than have to entertain me.

I didn't know they had made an arrest in the McStay case! I watched and read everything about the McStays early on after they disappeared. The way the house was found and the dogs left behind, I felt early on that they didn't start over somewhere else. So horrible for the family. Those kids were beautiful.
Happy Friday! I am so happy the weekend is finally close. This week has been crazy with H's stomach bug, DS's rash, the tax deadline and way too much work. Tomorrow I am sleeping in
I just started a second job that seems pretty perfect for me. It's 100% from home and I can do the work once DS goes to bed. The extra money will be huge for us right now as our budget has been tight and I am really getting anxious to pay off the rest of my student loans.

I'm an ID TV addict too. I need to add some of these shows to my dvr list!
I just scheduled my sleep study. They had dates in < 2 weeks, but then I'd be out for it while my folks are in town. I haven't seen them in over a year, and they're only here a few days, so I had to push out the date for the study.
I just finished watching The Paradise on Netflix and I'm pissed there were only two seasons. It was pretty good entertainment, and the costumes were so, so pretty. Although I could see how they were trying to save money on some of the costumes by re-lining some, and finishing others with different trim...very tricky BBC. Very tricky.
My boss's boss is leaving the end of the month. My group decided to take her out to supper tonight as a thank you, etc. They wanted to get her a gift, and I was okay with that. I suggested a plant, other's suggested jewelry, which is her thing. I figured ok. They asked for a budget per person and I said $10-15. They bought a necklace and a pair of earrings, admittedly beautiful, but it comes out to $40 per person, there are 9 of us, they say we are free to contribute however much we want. I'm super tempted to just throw in $20 and call it a day. Now I don't even want to pay for her supper tonight.

Man you're much more observant than I am. Frankly, I was in love with practically everything that Katharine Glendenning-Weston wore.
I got tired of the neck ribbons, but it was such a sign of wealth that they always matched her dresses perfectly.
eta: I found Mr. Selfridge insufferable in season 1, and we stopped taping it. I can't believe that show is season 3 (4?) and the paradise got shafted.
oh, i loved those neck ribbons! it would look awful on 95% of women i'm sure but on her it was great. loved her stuff.
i haven't watched mr. selfridge, but maybe now i won't. that was on my list for sure, b/c i love jeremy piven.

@ruralrabbit1, that sucks. I hate things like that, and now I want to tell one of my favorite stories.
We had our dean retire a few years ago. Someone decided that the perfect gift would be to commission a portrait of her, which they presented to her at a reception. 1) the portrait was awful 2) we got an email the day AFTER the reception asking for donations to cover the cost of the portrait. It included language about how "If you really appreciated her contribution, you will donate" and "how terrible to ask an artist to work for such a low rate." My cw and I counted 4 solid guilt trips in the mail. Suggested donation was $50.
Tomorrow the university in town is having an agricultural expo with all baby animals. DH and I are totally going so we can milk cows, hold baby chicks, etc. We don't have kids. Lol.

I just took steps to move some money to pay off some CC debt. I should have done it a long time ago, but was being righteous about it.
It's money I inherited a while ago, and gained some interest in the meantime. I initially felt bad using it for debts, but then realized the deceased would not want to hold myself back with debt, but to get rid of it and not do it again.
My cats have big wide eyes because the dryer vent people are here today, and of course, it's a huge vacuum. They have what I call their "concerned" faces, which means huge owl eyes.

mbcdefg - That happens to h all the time. Both his first and last name can be either/or and they're boys names so people always call him by last name thinking it's his first name. I always made fun of him... Then it happened to me a few weeks ago. My first name is a common girls first name. No mistaken which name is which there, yet there was.
@bellakitty - H and I use to go to Biltmore estate when we had season passes just to pet the chickens and goats...not to see the house lol. We love animals.
I got superglue on my face while gluing sparkles on someone's competition bikini. I look like I have a weird scar on my lower cheek.
This is the dumbest sounding problem I've ever typed out.
acetone will actually take it off. So if you have nail polish remover you should be able to get it off. Mineral spirit also might help. Spoken from experience gluing my fingers together too many times on craft projects.
