I am enjoying a glass of wine (last in the bottle) and considering opening another.
I am also mulling over my workday--I am in charge of the last project of the year, and it is so much fun. It feels like the students are actually learning something (because I'm actually there monitoring project progress in lab) rather than when faculty is leading (which tends to be drive by teaching). I love it.
Also, just when my stone cold heart grows three sizes and I think I am too hard on my CW, the following exchanges happen:
Me: student, did you get your hair cut? It looks lovely CW (piping in from across the room): I noticed it yesterday.
Student: I love milk chocolate. CW: you know that's all sugar. *i* only eat 85% dark chocolate. Poor student looks embarrassed.
I'm here, but about to jump in the shower. I spend about 8 hours today cleaning out a grass-filled garden bed at the lake. Ugh, I think the ornamental grasses I grew from seed and planted last year are not sterile. Shit. My plans for tomorrow include digging them up and moving them to a hillside where I wouldn't mind a shitload of volunteers grass.
My body hurts! Gin and tonic and a hot shower should feel fantastic!

krystee, please tell me you're watching flip or flop. Then get a margarita and drink every time Christina turns up her nose at something or makes this face.
I'm half asleep and working on gaining effort to get off the couch and go to bed but spenjamins coffee story reminded me of a guy at a work site I wanted to stab. Or at least yank his nipples.
I work with clients with disabilities and they were doing janitorial at this guys place of employment. He came up to me the other day and said "I spilled a cup of coffee but don't worry, I cleaned it up. I know it would be a half day's work for these guys!" My clients are fairly high functioning, you jerk, and they could mop it in five minutes no problem. Grrrr.
I'm home alone. Girls are at my mom's and H is working in New Orleans until tomorrow night. I've been gloriously unproductive. Right now I'm eating thin mints and listening to instrumental music on youtube, making a list for DD to listen to to pick something for her acro routine for next season.
You've had one hell of a day. I hope that a good nights sleep is in your future.
I don't know if this is a confession or PSA, but Now That's What I Call music 54 is available for pre order. You're welcome. (Yes, I absolutely ordered it. )
I'm drinking alone and annoyed that 1.) the city of Louisville will be filled with more asshats that usual this weekend and 2.) my local Sears store refused to honor the price of a sale item, so I sat my ass in their store, ordered it online for store pickup, and then went back to the counter and got my shit 50% off. Why can't people just do what I tell them to do? I always win. All I do is win win win. Fuckers.
msniq took care of babyniq tonight so i could go to happy hour with ex CWs. We got an estimate from one of the contractors. It's enough that maybe I should keep drinking
Ae you liking daredevil? The panel on the podcast pop culture happy hour hated it.
We've watched two episodes. It's on the slow side, but that's fine by me, and the "it's a comic book story BUT EXTRA DARK" schtick gets old, but so far I think we're enjoying it. It's a nice change of pace from Agents of Shield.
Oh no @spenjamins! What kinda cars are you looking at?
And @foodielicious my parents HOA is like that. They were both involved (treasurer? Something else?) and resigned for similar reasons. Ughhhh. Aside from that nut, do you like your neighbors?
My Hyundai is old so not worth fixing. I just bought a 2013 Toyota Highlander. There is so much room in the backseat for my boys! Picking it up tomorrow!
Funny, I got scared when they checked my credit. PTSD from long ago! But all was great!
