I had it flare up. I found using my heatpad and cold pack helped a bit. I also rubbed Voltaren emugel which helped slightly as well. The cure was giving birth!

The biggest thing that helped me was to wear a night guard when sleeping. I was grinding my teeth and it was making it worse. It also helped decrease the number of migraines I was having. My dentist made mine and it has lasted fairly well over the past 5 years.
When it flares I try to do a soft food diet and take tiny bites (no Har.dees hamburgers commercial type eating). I avoid hard/sticky candy and can't chew gum either. A muscle relaxer at bed time helps too. An aleve or motrin helps as well but those arn't options during pregnancy.
I have been thinking about doing Botox for it as well. Anyone here used it for TMJ?
