DS2's birthday party is in 2 weeks and he passed out invitations at school on Thursday. We have a family member making his birthday cake but she needs a rough estimate of how many people are coming. So my question is at what point would you assume you won't get any more RSVPs and plan around the number of people you know will be there plus extra just in case?
When I was planning my wedding I was instructed by the "professionals" involved that I should plan for around 80% of the people invited to attend. It worked out almost exactly.
Thanks guys. I'm just frustrated that people don't RSVP anymore. We sent out 22 invites and DS2 brought home a list of 12 kids from his class who he claims said they would come, but only 2 have confirmed (along with DS1's bff). I don't mind having leftover cake but it is annoying not knowing. The poor kid thinks his bff is coming but I haven't heard from his parents either.
