Since completing my hormone therapy, my endometriosis has come back again. To recap, I had a horrifying emergency hysterectomy five years ago when DD was born. Last year I had surgery to remove multiple adhesions, a dermiod cyst the size of a baseball, my fallopian tubes, and my left ovary.
This time will be more serious. My surgeon determined that a pocket of endometrial tissue, along with some nerve, got sewn into my abdominal wall during the original hysterectomy. It's formed a pocket of an adhesion inside the muscle. It's most likely infected.
No laproscopy this time. They will have to carve out the damaged portion of my abdominal wall, hopefully if it's infected it won't spread, and reconstruct the muscles.
I'm terrified. This is going to be an extremely difficult recovery, and it's come up in the middle of negotiating the 90 day review and raise I was already worried about. I'm alone this time. XH will take care of DD, but I have no idea how I'm going to get anyone to help me take care of myself for 4 to 6 weeks.

Wow, I'm so sorry that you have to go through all of this. Are you comfortable sharing where approx. you are located? Maybe someone on here would be willing to help out somehow if they can.

I'm so sorry. My mom had some similar issues to your original one and it sucks you have to have another surgery. I echo others who ask where (approx) you are located? Hopefully someone can help here.
Are you a member of a church? Or are/were your parents or aunts/uncles or your Ex's family? You might see if there are any church volunteers that can help.
Friends in the area? I know I would be more than happy to take a week off work and certainly help in evenings/weekends if a friend needed me to. Definitely ask.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I have my parents in the area. They can provide some help while XH takes care of DD. I have a couple local friends who have offered help as well. I'm not really sure what I'll need. I'm used to just dealing with things. My inclination is to tough this out too. It always feels so weird when I need to rely on anyone else. My friend Jess is driving me for my CT scan and blood work on Wednesday. The following Wednesday I'll meet with my doctor again to schedule surgery. The good news is I'm past the shock and sadness part of digesting this. I'm kind of numb about it now, but that feels better than upset did. I live in Frederick, MD. I'm trying not to be alone right now, and not to stay home. I'm in pain no matter what right now. I can't walk straight. I'm meeting my friend Tom for lunch and I'll probably hang with him most of the day. Thank you guys for giving me a safe place to unload all of this.
I am so sorry. I had an emergency laparotomy for endo 10 years ago. I'm happy to share about my recovery time line if it's helpful for you in planning care. I will be thinking of you.
Thinking of you. Maybe we can have a GTG before and everyone can bring you a freezer meal? I've been meaning to organize one and I've been slacking.
I'd totally make a trek for this
I'm not near, but near enough!
Great! I'm actually in PA, so I don't know where to schedule a GTG, do you have any suggestions? I'll pull up the PMs from the last GTG this afternoon and start tagging everyone in a new thread.
Ask your doctor about a step-down type place. My dad's co-worker and wife got into a really bad car accident. He was in the hospital for 2 weeks and was released but she broke her femur. Since his back was damaged, he couldn't take care of her so she is in a step-down place. It's not a rest home but it's something similar for the injured. You may have something like that to help you.
