I live in a dutch colonial. Pretty traditional, nothing remarkable. I am replacing a very old ceiling fixture in my foyer. This is what's there now, and I have always detested it. I need an electrician for some other work, so I'm going to have him replace it.
Are these too modern and/or victorian? If you don't like these, can you help me find a flush- or semi-flush mounted bowl-type ceiling fixture (I hate being able to see the lightbulbs). It can't hang more than 15" or the door will hit it. I really like Tiffany-style, but I'm afraid it will look out of place in the hallway. My favorite is the dragonfly one. Wallpaper is white with tiny blue flowers. Thanks!
If you like them, that's all that matters. My mom has a couple Tiffany-style lighting fixtures she loves and brings wherever she moves.
Eh, I kind of like your funky vintage light, but it doesn't seem to be doing the job. The space looks sort of dark.
Leaded Tiffany-style is more about decoration than effective lighting, so it won't brighten the space. It's also kind of Victorian/Craftsman (depending) in style, so it's not a natural design choice for a Dutch Colonial.

Thanks! Such a hard decision. I know I should go with what I like (the dragonfly one) but it's the first thing you set eyes on in my house, so I feel like it should "fit in." I'm going to keep looking. Since I'm getting all these lighting ads now, anyway. LOL
