We have a credit card that earns 1% on everything and 2% on grocery. How does that work? Like if I go to a grocery store and I buy a gift card does it count b/c I am at a grocery store or does it only work for items that have a certain code. And does anyone know if Walmart normally counts as a grocery store? I am trying to find the information on our card and I will call them at some point - just asking for here for now.
We have a Bank of America card like this and Walmart counts as a grocery store. I haven't bought gift cards, but I assume it would still count. With ours, anything bought at a grocery store counts toward the 2%.

I can't say with 100% certainty, but I would assume anything purchased at a grocery store would earn 2%, regardless of the item. Super Target is a grocery store, but you can also buy clothes there, so even socks count as a "grocery store" purchase.
Anything purchased at that store should count. I have a card that does 5% cash back on books and Amazon counts as a bookstore even if I'm buying kitty litter.
