My neighbors and coworkers are doing this lately and they love it. The prices dont seem bad. Delivery is only $6 on orders of $100 or more. I feel like maybe its become more pedestrian given the fact that delivery services have boomed in the last 5 years or so.

I don't use Peapod but mainly b/c i'm not organized enough. I don't meal plan etc, I wander the grocery store until I find things that I feel like eating, ha. However, when my kids were really small I thought about using it and pitched it to my husband as the money we spend on delivery will even out with the money I won't be spending on impulse purchases.

I tried it a couple of times and never did it again because I found that they were bringing me produce, milk, etc that was close to spoiling or within 1-2 days its expiration date. It was pretty convenient, though.

I do Peapod pick up, since there is a store on the way home from work and pick-up is free (I would pay for delivery, if pickup was not so convenient for me). I love it. I've never gotten bad produce or anything. Literally life changing. I do save money on impulse purchases. My mom makes fun of me for having a "personal grocery shopper", she thinks it's very yuppie lol.
I use FreshDirect which is the same concept. I LOVE it. I really do not enjoy grocery shopping and it's nice to have my groceries waiting on my porch when I get home. Their prices are better than the stores around here and it ends up saving money because I make fewer impulse buys. They guarantee things won't expire within a certain amount of time and the quality is good.
I do! I have never had a problem with produce going bad or things being close to expiration.
Once I had a kiwi that looked a little funny (not bad just weird) - I called to see if they would let me bring it to the local store to exchange it and they credited me the $$, gave me $5 off my next order and would have let me exchange if I wanted. That's the only time in 3 years that I have had a bad product.
I do the extended window delivery so it's only $4.95 delivery, plus sometimes they have a dollar or two off for "green window".
I love it! They carry the groceries right into the kitchen and I definitely save $$ by not grabbing random stuff at the store.
