Light blue, a shade or two lighter than what is on the pattern.
ETA: Nevermind...I see you don't have anything purchased yet with that blue. I'd buy other stuff first & then choose a color. I like your Pinterest board for the room!
I vote for grey to act as a backdrop to the bright green and blue. Grey also hides dirt and it goes with everything so you won't necessarily have to repaint if you change the color scheme up in a few years.
Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter is extremely popular and versatile. It's warmer so it should look good with cool colors. Gray Owl and Stonington Gray are also nice.
Ok so I am thinking definitely a lighter gray than the rug. I have the rug in the guest room which is already painted gray but I think that might be too dark even if it's lighter than the rug's gray color.
Here it is next to gray in the guest room. The rug's photo online looked like it had white pattern. But as you can see it's actually gray on darker gray. It's almost an exact match to the naked eye!
Would it be weird to have two gray room painted the same gray? They aren't exactly next to each other. They are separated by a bathroom in the middle.
I don't think it would be weird to have the same gray in more than one room. If you want it to be different, you could have it lightened/darkened a little.
Because grey is a neutral it will adjust slightly to the colors around it. As long as both rooms don't have the same exact colors in the accessories, most people won't notice that it is the same grey. FWIW, I have green, blue and brown in some form in every room of my house.
I think repeating the same colors in your home is a decor trick to make your house flow better. So it should be fine to have the same neutral in two rooms.

I was also thinking taupe/grey. :-) I have Benjamin Moore's Pashmina in our living room, and something like that I think would go well. Plus, it "grows well" in that it'll work with whatever color scheme the kid picks. It's amazing how soon you get into "big boy/girl" rooms and then they start to have decorating preferences...
I think it's fine too. I like the color and ideas you have going! Are you team green or are you finding out?
So far team green but at last ultra sound the tech wasn't very careful while scanning and DH is pretty sure it's a girl! Well I was trying to stay in the dark but thanks DH for telling me! Every one and the Chinese gender predictor says it's a girl. Lol. I also think it's a girl because this pregnancy feels way different than last time!
