We got notification that an offer is pending tomorrow am. We just listed our townhouse on Wednesday night. It was a dump (a day away from declaring short sale status) when we moved in 5 years ago, and there's no way to get the amount of money we put in to make it nice, but we were not expecting an offer this soon! We had 1 showing Thursday, 3 showings (one a 2nd show) on Friday, 2 yesterday and 1 today. Holy cow!!
Of course, now H (who's been saying he'd prefer to build new for the last 6 years) is now balking at building now that I found a new build subdivision, in our price range, in a town that's up and coming with good elementary schools and a decent high school. I think part of it is his mom, who's all, "it's too far for free daycare" and "What do you means it's five minutes farther away than you are now" and "you could totally just buy a lot then hire your own builder to build with plans cheaper than a new neighborhood". (I'm all "I will drive to you for free daycare on my way to work- it's not that far out of the way" and "You come to our house maybe twice a year now since 30 minutes is too far for you to visit but not to far for you to shop in the other direction" and "Taxes in your town or any of the immediate towns are too high for us. This is what is what is in OUR budget.")
Anyway, we have no idea what the offer is, so hopefully it's high enough that we can accept it. Then I will freak out because we have to move in with ILs until we find an acceptable to ME house or wait 5 months for the new house to be built. But either way, EEEEK I may have just sold my house!!
awick14 Not yet The realtors were on vacation, due to arrive back today. Yesterday she said they were given a heads up to receive an offer today, so we were guessing this morning. They're on the plane now, so hopefully we'll hear from them sooner rather than later!
jjwritergirl We'll spend a few months with H's family. It'll be crowded, but manageable. We have to wait til after closing to start looking, but I'm hoping to build a little bit southwest of our current town.
